The Leicestershire region

One of Britain’s best kept secrets, a land ripened with fascinating history and vast scenic beauty, Northamptonshire is one of the most stunning of the English counties.

Within 2 hours drive of three quarters of the UK’s population, you’re sure to be closer to us than you ever imagined – And you’ll discover that underneath the peaceful surface of this quintessentially English county, bubbles the excitement and variety of lots to do and see.

Miles of real British countryside, miles of things to do…

Whether you decide to stay for a few days or longer, there is always lots on offer for every season, no matter your age or interests. Immerse yourself in the history of the region by visiting one of the majestic stately homes, gardens or castles. Tread where warriors battled at Naseby, meander along our historical waterways or feast your eyes on the renowned boot and shoe collection in Northampton; a much loved feature of our county - and just one of many fascinating museums.

Enjoy fun with friends or family and plan a trip around one of our big annual events such as the Northampton Balloon Festival.

Market Harborough

Caldecott nestles within the picturesque Welland Valley in the county of Rutland, only 3 miles from Corby, 8 miles from Market Harborough, 12 miles from Kettering, and less than 15 miles from the historic town of Stamford, making it the perfect location for both the holiday visitor and business traveller choosing to explore this part of ‘Secret England’.

There’s a wealth of things to see nearby, including the historic Rockingham Castle, commissioned by William the Conqueror, Eyebrook reservoir, internationally renowned for trout fishing and Rockingham speedway, home of NASCAR motor racing in Europe.
