This classic Italian apartment is not only furnished to a very high standard, but its location is first class. Not only does it offer impeccable privacy, but it is very close to amenities and entertainment. It is ideally situated in the small town and amenities are within walking distance from the property (bakeries, shopping, supermarket pharmacy, pizzerias, shops, church, bars and a train station).
Within a 2 minute walk you will approach a large supermarket where you can purchase the culinary delights that Italy is famous for. A 5 minute walk will take you to a bakery, pharmacy and the renowned 'Golesia' nightclub / cafe where you can socialise until you tire! The world renowned beach awarded by the fee Italia the “bandiera blu” in the from 2001 to 2006 is truly immense and is less than a 10 minute walk away from the villa.
This impressive property has 4 metres (12ft) high ceilings and this creates space within the villa and it is fully tiled to a very high standard. The staircase is white marble and there is dark and ornate wood furnishings which really enhances the sheer character of the place.
The property has had automatic a/c and heating units installed in the apartment 2 years ago with their own remote controls. This property is equally comfortable during the winter months as well as the more popular summer period.

The Southern Italy / Calabria region
Calabria is a narrow peninsula extending into the heart of the Mediterranean for three hundred kilometres. It is located at the tip of the "boot" between the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west and the Ionian Sea and Gulf of Taranto to the east. It is separated from Sicily by the Straight of Messina, where the narrowest point between Capo Peloro in Sicily and Punta Pezzo in Calabria is only 3.2 km (1.2 m).
Although the sea seems ever present in Calabria, it is mainly a mountainous region. Three mountain ranges are present: Pollino, the Sila, and Aspromonte. All three mountain ranges are unique with their own wildlife.
The main tourist draws in Calabria are the coastline and the mountains. The coastline alternates between rugged cliffs and sandy beaches, and is sparsely interrupted by development when compared to other European seaside destinations. The sea around Calabria is impressively clear and will provide hours of enjoyment for holiday makers and locals alike.
The region is steeped in history but today there is increased affluence, a much improved economy based on modern agriculture, tourism and a growing commercial base. The main tourist draws in Calabria are the coastline and the mountains.

Marina di Gioiosa Ionica area
The town of Gerace is approximately a 20 minute drive from my apartment and has impressive cobblestone streets in addition to a 17th century church. It’s Byzantine and medieval architecture has remained unaltered. Rich of monument, churches and buildings of ancient noble, in which the cathedral, the church of San Francesco with its beautiful marble, the church of Santa Anna, the remains of the Norman castle and ancient walls. It is not only famous for the ambiance but rather the unique style of ice cream called “granite” which everyone should experience!
The attractions go on; within a 40 minute drive you can also visit the beautiful seaside resort of Tropea. Marina di Gioisa comes alive with the festival of “the Madonna Del Carmine”. It is held annually on the 3rd Sunday of August. It is a captivating day and a not to be missed! It commencies in the morning taking the Madonna out of the church, procession, and a procession at sea, with boats to follow, parachutes come down from airoplanes and the night comes to a climax with the best firework display you have ever seen!
On September 1st, another famous festival is held. This one is called “festa di San Rocco". It is a feast of dancing all day! The night is enjoyable for rides and mercato (flea market). The mercato is held in our town every Wednesdays where you will find everything from food, to clothes, shoes and household items. The nightly “lungo mare” holds rides for the kids, eateries and cafes/pubs. Rocella is the next town which holds a very good jazz festival.

From Lamezia terme take Highway A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria, exit at Rosarno and proceed to Marina di Gioiosa Jonica along the S>S. 106 state road.

Further details indoors: Linen and towels are provided for the holiday maker. In addition to this, you will find the usual modern conveniences that you would expect but there are finishing touches that you would not. A coffee machine for the early morning awakening or that late night 'pick-me-up', a music system to set the mood for a quiet romantic night in or the inspiration for a night out and in essence, the environment is one of relaxation and enjoyment.
As you enter through the front entrance it is 1 level up on a brand new white marble staircase to the 2 bedrooms. 1 is smaller with a double bed which is fully furnished and the master bedroom is equipped with a queen size bed as well as wall to wall sized armoire. We have a wall to wall balcony exiting from the master bedroom. All bedrooms have wardrobes, drawers, bedside tables, lamps and even a hairdryer.
1 bathroom is fully equipped with a bidet stand up shower (north American style) as well as a brand new washing machine.
There is a very large fully equipped kitchen with utensils concept kitchen with a fridge and brand new stove open table that can seat up to 8. The living room has a pull out couch which sleeps 2.
Further details outdoors: From Lamezia airport, it is exactly a 50 minute drive to the front door and there is private parking for 1 vehicle- possibly 2 depending upon the size.

It is a 3 level complex that the ground floor all 3 retail outlets are empty, your walk up th the 1st floor (all marble staircase) leads up to apartment. This is a self-catering apartment.

Conditions
A non refundable deposit of 90.00 pounds sterling to be paid upon making a booking.
A 175.00 pound sterling deposit must be made upon arrival for incidental damages which will be refunded upon departure if there are no damages. (security deposit refundable)
A 35 pound sterling fee is required for cleaning the apartment.
The owner speaks fluent Italian so communication is possible in both English and Italian.
