Luxury 2 bed penthouse apartment at Discovery Resort, Marigot Bay, St Lucia This romantic tree house style penthouse apartment is located in the superb new resort of Discovery within Marigot Bay. It overlooks the pool area and the stunning bay. Marigot Bay is often described as the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean and was the location of the original Dr Dolittle film.
The resort itself has a wide choice of bars and restaurants, two swimming pools (one with an infinity edge overlooking the bay and another with a swim up bar and children's pool) and a beach. The Marina Village next door has a supermarket, shops and amongst other things a bakery and coffee shop.

The Castries region
St. Lucia is one of the most desirable locations in the Caribbean, a tropical island rich in unspoiled natural beauty, verdant forests, beautiful coves and palm fringed sandy beaches. The most popular part of the island is the north, here are also some of the best beaches, shopping centres, marinas and hotels. It can be explored by taxi, boat or hire car and there are many fascinating tours.
The climate in St. Lucia is tropical with average temperatures ranging from mid seventies to mid eighties (25 to 30 Celsius). The rainy season is from June to October but even then showers tend to last a short time.
Marigot Bay area
St. Lucia is famous for a number of things; the twin peaks of the magnificent Pitons, which rise from the sea to almost 3000 feet, the walk in the volcano of Soufriere with the bubbling sulphur springs, Marigot Bay which is described by author James Michener as "the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean" and the location of the famous Dr. Dolittle film. Knowledgeable local guides can take visitors to most places i.e. into the rainforest and even to the tops of some of the mountains. There are plenty of sporting opportunities for active visitors including sailing, diving, snorkelling, deep sea fishing, golf, trekking and sightseeing.

Further details indoors: The apartment has a large living room with dining area, 32' flat screen tv and fully equipped Italian kitchen. Both bedrooms are spacious, have 27' flat screen tv's, en suite spacious shower rooms and are air conditioned. It is decorated and furnished to a very high standard, in a contemporary style with large balconies and amazing views over the bay
Further details outdoors: The resort has a wide choice of restaurants and bars. The Boudreau Restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, is relaxed during the day and more formal in the evenings while the Rainforest Hideaway, a 2 minute ferry ride away, is the ultimate romantic fine dining retreat with fusion cuisine, champagne and sophisticated cocktails.
The lively Hurricane Hole Bar, famous among yachtsmen worldwide, has panoramic views out to sea, while the chic Pink Snail cocktail bar is themed around the movie, Dr Dolittle, filmed in the bay over 40 years ago. The European style Coffee Dock, right on the edge of the harbour, serves fabulous coffee, croissants, snacks and sandwiches throughout the day. Next door to Discovery is a colourful, Caribbean-style, Marina Village with a supermarket and wine shop, fashion and gift boutiques, a bank/cash point, art gallery, restaurant and bar as well as a French bakery and coffee shop.
The many facilities and activities within the resort include two swimming pools, one with an infinity edge overlooking the bay and another with a swim up bar and children’s pool.
The Discovery fitness centre offers classes including Tai Chi, Yoga and meditation and special mind and body programmes will be running at certain times of the year. The free ferry takes guests to the famous sandspit where they can sunbathe, swim, snorkel and enjoy a variety of complimentary non-motorized water sports.
Lapli Spa has three treatment rooms with private decks and private, open air showers, a Vichy wet room and, in the Zen Garden, two ofurus and two double massage cabanas. A wide range of treatments uses luxury products and includes massages, scrubs and wraps and there are also some local treatments created by specialist Caribbean herbalists. There is a separate beauty parlour for hairdressing, pedicures and manicures.

The laundry room is located in a separate utility room which also has access to an iron and ironing board, washing line and sink. Discovery Resort is a Hotel based resort so guests have the flexibility here to be in their own self-catering apartment with full facilities but having all hotel based amenities on their doorstep! Accommodation is on a room only basis.
