With direct views of the ski slopes from the terrace and garden, and set back from the road in one of the finest residential apartment blocks in the area, this apartment is the perfect base for skiing, hiking, mountain biking or simply exploring the area at leisure. It is a 5 mins walk to the cable car up the mountain, close to local restaurants and cafes and other facilities, yet surrounded by forests and vineyards on the hills.
The lovely old city of Maribor is 3km away and easily reachable by bus from near the apartment. Swimming pool and wellness spa at the nearby Habekuk Hotel, volleyball, horse riding, fishing and a golf driving range all close to hand. And don't forget to explore the local vineyards!

The Podravje region
The skiing / hiking / mountain biking resort of Zgornje Radvanje nestles at the foot of the Pohorje massif and close to Maribor, the second largest in Slovenia. The Pohorje massif is a protected region of exceptional natural beauty of approx. 1000 square kilometres and well worth exploring on foot, bike, ski or horseback.
The symbol of Maribor is the fox, which reflects the town’s close connection with nature; it is also used as a logo for the Golden Fox World Cup Skiing competition that takes place every January.

If it's an activity holiday you're seeking, then the area has a good deal to offer. In winter, as well as the excellent skiing for all levels, there is also snow boarding, sledding (inc. night time sledding), tobogganing, horse riding. The region has more than 40 kms of ski slopes, with 10kms of floodlit night time skiing and 100 days of guaranteed snow. There are English speaking ski schools and even a ski kindergarten for the very young.
In summer the area is transformed into a region for hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, horse riding and so forth. And yet you can lose the world in forests in no time.
There is a wellness centre and spa in the nearby Habekuk hotel. Non residents can also use the hotel's pool. The red roofs of Maribor's lovely old town are a few minutes away by local bus. The old town stands along the impressive Lent river, which offers fishing, canoeing and other boating activities. In June the Lent festival takes place - a must see experience.
Maribor is surrounded by vineyards that you can visit and try the local wines. The nearby town of Ptuj is the second oldest in Slovenia. Ptuj has an excellent golf course.
How to get there
For travellers from the U.K the nearest airport is Graz, just over the border in Austria. Taxi can be arranged to collect you from the airport - cost is 50 euro each way. Otherwise there is a train service from Graz to Maribor. Llubljana airport is only 90 minutes away by car. Car hire available at the airport.
