Our Spacious Winter Ski and Family Ground Floor Summer Holiday home is situated in a peaceful setting between the villages of Maria Alm and Hinterthal. The main advantages are that the ski bus stops within 50 yards of the front door, and the roads are kept clear of snow in the winter. You can easily take the short walk to the nearest modern 6-seater chair lift, with the pistes just opposite the house. In summer time, the South Facing Front Garden captures the sun beautifully from early morning until evening time, and is a lovely place to relax to the sounds of the nearby river and the cows grazing in the fields.

The house was completed in 2002, and boast modern facilities such as Underfloor Heating, Bathroom with WC and separate shower cubical, additional separate WC and an en suite shower room to the 2nd bedroom, Fitted Kitchen with dishwasher, cooker, microwave and twin tub sink, Very large lounge with seating for up to 11 guests, Digital Cable TV (with BBC Prime and BBC World News), DVD, Hifi (with input for mp3). The real log fire with the wood burner in the front room ensures that you are kept toasty warm in the winter evening. In the summer the South Facing Sun Terrace is a real sun trap.

Both bedrooms have ipod-dock clock radios.
Even though the radio signal is quite poor, you can plug in your own ipod on the docking station, charge it up overnight, and even set it to wake you up in the morning to your selected music......

The house is set back from the main road, with the private fenced garden to the front. There is plenty of parking spaces to the side of the building.

Conditions

We accept bookings for 3 days and upwards. We also allow you to book any dates (not just Saturday to Saturday). This gives much more flexibility with quieter roads and cheaper flights on other days of the week. Please contact us to discuss further.

Summer Apartment - Beautiful Sunny Location

The Austrian Alps / Salzburgerland / Salzburgerland region

Maria Alm am Hochkonig is a beautiful village in the Salzburg region of Austria. The village church is the centre piece of a lovely traditional winter and summer resort. The surrounding mountains rise to 3,000m above sea level and create a stunning backdrop to some wonderfully quiet ski runs, and summer pastures. The nearby towns of Saalfelden and Zell am See are very popular for sight seeing and shopping, whilst the lakes can provide a refreshing swim in the summer. Salzburg is just 60mins drive for a great day out at the home of Mozart and the 'Sound of Music'.

The Maria Alm / Hintermoos area

For Winter
The ski area make up a part of the Ski Amade area, that links with Bad Gastein, Wagrain, Flachau, Schladming and the Datchstein Glacier. The extremely modern lift system will keep the busiest skier happy for a week or more. The closest ski lift is just 150 yards from the front door, with 3 runs ending at the same spot. The local Skibus stops just outside the house, and is a short ride into either Maria Alm or Hinterthal.

For Summer
The mountains provide a wonderful adventure playground for walkers and mountain bike enthusiasts. Hundreds of kilometres of well marked trails, with difficulties varying from the simple stroll up to the toughest of climbs. You can even take the chairlift up the mountain (bikes too). Another fun activity is the mountain toboggan run at Saalfelden. Take the chairlift to the top of the mountain, and ride Europes longest downhill summer toboggan run. Every Sunday and Tuesday evening throughout the summer in the centre of Maria Alm there is a free concert of traditional music and dance, a great place to relax and enjoy a drink.

“Excellent place for family holidays” We just wanted to find out how the Alps look in the summer... And we found an excellent place for family summer holidays. Charming Austrian village; affordable and delicious food in local restaurants; meticulously kept swimming pool with slides and water jets to cool during the hot days (and we had sun and 31 degrees for the whole week); plenty of attractions in the area (didn't see everything because the pool was too tempting); great mountain walks. The appartment very spacious and well equipped (true home from home). Response: Glad you had a great experience in the magical summer surroundings. We love the summer here just as much (if not more) as the winter. Best wishes.

“ Four days of skiing bliss, left Stansted Airport on the first flight and was on the piste just before midday! Clear blue skies and perfect snow conditions on quiet wooded runs. Great food, excellent accommodation about one and half minutes walk from the nearest lift.
On our last day we were skiing until 4pm and back in the UK by 9.30pm.
I’m now planning to return in the summer for mountain biking and walking! “
