Situated 10minutes stroll along the riverside from the picture postcard village of Maria Alm which offers numerous restaurants and local supermarket.
Home from Home. The apartment sleeps six people.
The main bedroom provides a queen size bed ,pine wardrobes with an adjoining bunk room with (NEW) adult bunk beds. (All fresh bedding provided)
The cosy traditional living room has a comfortable (NEW) double sofa bed and dining area complete with tv,dvd player and i pod charger/player and numerous DVDs.
Through the hall is a kitchen,comprising of an oven,microwave,toaster,kettle,sandwich maker,fridge and all cooking utensils.
There is a lovely spacious bathroom with a full size bath, toilet and power shower.
In the hall is a mirror, hair-dryer, straighteners and travel plugs for your convenience.
After a hard day on the slopes take in the mountain views on the south facing balcony.
The ski store room is on the ground floor with bumboards for tobogganing and BBQ for your use.
The apartment offers ample free parking with a free ski bus stop 50meters away on the main road
A locked ski room is available to all residents.
The apartment building also offers a washing machine and dryer facility

The Austrian Alps / Salzburgerland region
Salzburgland offers picture postcard scenery with stunning natural attractions such as the Hohe Tauern National Park, the highest waterfalls in europe at Krimml and the breath taking lake at Zell am Zee.
The Ski Amade ski area (25 villages,860km of trails and 258 lifts on one lift pass) incorporates Hochkoenigs Winter Kingdom offering some of the worlds best skiing and snowboarding in winter.
The slopes are quiet and chairlift queues are non existent.
Hintertal has one of the best snow records in Austria with the lifts usually opening in late November.
25 minutes drive from Maria alm is the fantastic kitzsteinhorn glazier. ( ski all year round)
The myth lives Kitzsteinhorn : about 3000 meters expects more than a glacier. It is the glacier , on which was the first ski area in Austria . Look forward to fill in snow and an Alpine eye-opener , 365 days a year.
Surrounded by the highest peaks in Austria, this opens up the adventure of his mightiest mountain side. And the world's highest cable car with 113.6 meters support is seamlessly integrated into the impressive dimensions of Kaprun mountain.
The slopes - vast, spectacular and with a meter-thick nature of snow - to move towards the valley . 41 slopes spread over the Kitzsteinhorn , 20 lifts and cable cars provide a convenient driveway. In addition to numerous shops, restaurants and cabins await you in the Winter World-class snow parks, The legendary Ice Camp and of course, fantastic deep snow , the invite for freeriding.
In the summer alpine run Tours of spectacular hiking trails. For families, the Ice Arena is waiting on the glacier is a popular destination : In July and August there slides, a beach and snow, an ice bar Spectacular events are also available on the Kitzsteinhorn . In the summer the area boasts a fantastic range of opportunities including walking, mountain biking, golf (18 hole golf course directly behind the apartment) mini-golf,tennis and water sports but to name a few, where often the temperature is above 80F.
Leogang is 15 minutes from the apartment and boasts the biggest mountain bike park in Europe. Holding the 2012 world championships
The village and next Town of Saalfelden has Tourist information Offices with numerous leaflets and offers of activities.
The Maria Alm area
Maria Alm lies at the end of the Mühlbachtal against the backdrop of the Steinerne Meer and Hochkönig ,with it's peaks rising to over 3000m.
Maria Alm and its mountain villages of Hintermoos and Hintertal are easily reached by motorway from Salzburg.
The villages are part of the world class Ski Amadé region.
Maria Alm is lively and very pretty both summer and winter and the local skiing in the village is extensive. It is a great resort for families.
It also opens up the possibility of huge skiing in the surrounding area as Dienten, Mühlbach, Hinterthal are all on the same ski pass.
As well as the 150 km of fantastic ski slopes, the Hochkonig Winterreich offers much more to the winter time visitor.
For the cross country skier here you'll find 30 km of marked trails. The non-skiers are well catered for with curling, winter walks, sleigh rides, flood lit toboggan runs and Ice skating.
Summer:
The area is a fantastic base for summer holidays.
Just some of the activities include: Outdoor Pool and Fitness Centre, Mountain Biking, Championship 18 hole Golf Course on your doorstep, Summer Skiing, Windsurfing and Sailing or just plain old balcony sunbathing!

Saalfelden Leogang Secures the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships 2012 (15 minutes from apartment.
Saalfelden Leogang, Austria, September 29th, 2010 – Last night the eagerly awaited decision was finalized that the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships 2012 will take place in Saalfelden and on the trails of the Bikepark Leogang. From August 29th to September 9th, international top athletes will meet in the four disciplines – Downhill, Fourcross, Cross Country and Trials. The international cycling association (UCI) once more validated what hasn’t been insider knowledge for a while: The Bikepark Leogang has developed into one of the most renowned bikeparks in Europe and the Region Saalfelden Leogang is almost a must do for everyone passionate about biking. Furthermore, the newly developed cross country trail will be challenging – even for the pros.
Winter:
Maria Alm is a wonderful ski area, with it's neighbour Hinterthal and other villages of Dienten and Mühlbach - all of which can be skied on the same lift pass. You really get a feeling here of skiing from resort to resort. The snow usually falls here first with Hinterthal having one of the best snow records in Austria usually opening the lifts in late November.
The local indoor swimming pool is only a ten minute walk away and is open all year round.
The water park is open in the summer months only and is located about a twenty minute walk or a short drive away.
Other local facilities available include: Public sauna, Fitness centre, Tennis and Massage.
Public transport is available right opposite the apartments. This makes accessing the whole area very easy to do, be it in Summer or Winter time.
The area immediately around the apartments is superb for Walking, Hiking and Mountain Biking
Leogang, Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Zell am See, and Kaprun are all part of the ski circus and only 15 minutes drive from the apartment giving you endless choices of ski areas to explore.

Having stayed at the appartment previously I knew what to expect when my family and I arrived. the appartment was clean and well furnished with TV DVD ipod system and a large DVD library for all the family to use. Comprising of a double bed room and a bunk bed room along with the option of a double bed pull out sofa we were well catered for in the sleeping department. A small kitchen that is well equiped with pots/pans/cutlery/glasses etc and all the small stuff like salt/pepper oil etc gave us the option of eating in if we wanted but the local restaurants (5 minutes walk away)are so reasonable we didnt feel the need to. Ample parking for our bus even at this half term week (slopes not busy compared to previous locations). We will be staying again over the summer for a walking/biking holiday. This is not a 5 star accomodation with hot tub, mini-bar pool etc but it is clean, safe, warm and in a great location |

We spent 17 nights in Maria Alm at the Smiths apartment. The apartment was truly home from home with all of its facilities. Much to my wifes delight, they even have a hairdryer & straighteners. Two less things to pack. The apartment was a leisurely stroll along the river to Maria Alm centre, where there are plenty of restaurants and shops. The weather was an unexpected 80-90 degrees for the duration of our stay & we made the most of it. The village boasts an excellent outdoor swimming pool and for €12 a family of 4 can spend the whole day there. There are a couple of supermarkets in the village that cater for every need & the Interspar in Saalfelden that has a greater selection. We stayed at the apartment to celebrate my Wife's 40th birthday & it was definitely a birthday to remember. Plenty of walks and activities to do on the doorstep. Just over an hour away you can visit Salzburg; The Eagles Nest; Krimml Waterfalls & the Grossglochner Hochalpine Pass to name but a few. Such a beautiful country. We will definitely return. The apartment is such good value for money & very comfortable, cosy and clean. It was so easy to relax after a day out sightseeing. |
