"Don't be taken in by the photo"

Don't be fooled by the photos and write-up.I stayed here with my adult daughter, booked from 31/8/13 to 7 September, but had to leave a couple of days early as unable to sleep due to noisy road, … More

Firstly, I would like to thank you for posting your review of Tea Cosy Cottage in Marhamchurch near Bude following your aborted holiday at the end of August 2013, I would further like to take this opportunity to apologise for the delay in my response.

I am sorry that you feel the photographs and description of the property are inaccurate and that your experience whilst on holiday was less than satisfactory.

Our and the owners overriding concern is to ensure that customers who choose to holiday at Tea Cosy Cottage have their expectations met or exceeded, and we work very hard to ensure that the photographs and description are an accurate representation of what the customer will find on their arrival.

We have tried to ensure that the nature of the property and its surroundings are represented in the description by mentioning that it is mid-terraced, set back from a country lane on the outskirts of the village, with views over the countryside and owners working farm with the owner living in a self-contained annex to the rear of the cottage. We have found through the feedback to date customers are happy with the accuracy and representation on the website.

Our experience since listing Tea Cosy Cottage in 2011 has been positive with customers rating the standard of the owners cleaning and overall standard of the property as good. Over this time we and the owner have only ever been made aware of the mattress in the front double bedroom being uncomfortable and the owner responded to this constructive feedback by replacing the mattress for the 2012 letting season.

The owner works extremely hard to ensure that all customers are welcomed and are as comfortable as possible whilst on holiday with many past customers thanking the owner for her hospitality which can be viewed on our website for Tea Cosy Cottage.

It's a shame that you did not mention any of your concerns to the owner whilst on holiday as she would have done what she could have to make your stay an enjoyable experience.
