Temeraire Court faces the seafront at the Cliftonville end of Margate. The apartment was refurbished in 2007 and is within the former Fort Lodge hotel and the original building reflects Margates Georgian hertitage as a holiday destination for prosperous Londoners. The apartment is 1 minutes walk from the seafront and is perfectly situated for the town and main beach attractions and for the fabulous quiet beaches at Walpole and Palm Bay.

We offer seaside breaks all year round, you can enjoy the sea air and return to a really comfortable, stylish apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped or you can take a short walk to the restaurants and bistros in the harbour and old town.

The apartment offers sea views from the deep shuttered windows to the lounge. It is equipped with all you need for a family holiday, friends get together or romantic break for two.

Bed linen, towels and wifi/ internet access are included.

Temeraire Court is a lovely new development of individual apartments restored from the historic Georgian Fort Lodge hotel overlooking Margate's sandy beaches. The apartment is spacious and is situated on the ground floor with sea views from the living room deep bay window and has a private enclosed garden. Many of the original Georgian features have been retained and the interior and exterior have been beautifully finished to a high standard and furnished in a simple contemporary style to complement the classic Georgian architecture.

The apartment has a large and airy king size bedroom with a 24" Freeview digital LCD TV and plenty of space for guest beds for children, a delightful double bedroom with shower room en suite and DAB radio, new bathroom with oversize bath and shower (both bathroom and en suite have heated towel rails). The apartment has been decorated and furnished in a contemporary style and has a stylish and yet comfortable feel .

The apartment is equipped with all that you need to experience a luxurious and relaxing break. There is a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. The living room has an entertainment centre wih 28" digital TV, DVD/CD player, surround sound system. There are a number of books, games DVDs and CDs provided for your use or you could just watch the spectacular sun sets from the living room bay window

The apartment is fitted with smoke alarms, a fire protection sprinkler system and burglar alarm for extra security.

There is an enclosed courtyard garden to the rear with a decked seating area which catches the full morning sun and where you can enjoy long breakfasts and lazy lunches. The garden is also equipped with a barbecue and a number of garden games.

There is a travel cot for babies and toddlers.

The Wintergarden has an all year programme of top entertainment and is a short walk from Temeraire Court.

There is a south facing private courtyard garden with decked area and table chairs and bench that enjoys the full morning sun and partially shaded sun in the afternoon/ evening. Garden games and a barbecue are available for your use.

A secure parking space is available at the rear of the property at a supplementary charge of £20 per week. Please let us know if you want to reserve this at the time of booking.

The apartment is on the ground floor. However there are a few steps up to the main entrance door and within the property itself. The layout of the apartment includes a narrow (800mm) corridor access to the kitchen, bathroom and double bedroom.

The letting days are Saturday to Saturday with arrival after 4.00pm and departure before 10.30am. Please visit our website for terms and conditions Short breaks are available in low season for a minimum of 5 nights.

PARKING There is free parking on the street outside the building and on nearby streets. Spaces are usually easy to find but there are aslo 2 nearby car parks at approxiately £3 for 24 hours.

Margate is one of the forgotten jewels of our seaside heritage. It has a proud history of holiday making since Georgian times. It boast many historic buildings in the Old Town and on the seafront and is enjoying an upsurge due partly to a developing arts movement. The £18million Turner Contemporary gallery will be opened in 2010. However, Margate also retains its tradtional seaside appeal and has beautiful clean, sandy beaches, good bars, restaurants and coffee shops. It offers a base for many attractions in Kent and provides a great all year round holiday destination


Margate is a great base for visits to nearby Ramsgate, Folkestone, Canterbury and Rochester. Take a daytrip to France by Ferry from Folkestone or Eurotunnel from Ashford. Kent is full of attractions and amusements for all age groups and budgets.

Margate beach is a major attraction and is a Blue Flag beach having won Seaside Awards

Margates other attractions include bowling, swimming, leisure centre, night life, arts centre, museum, jet sking , sailing, guided rock pool walksetc. The tourism office in Margate Harbour is a good source of local information and the apartment has a folder with brochures and information to help you get the most from your holiday.

Nearby Westwood Cross offers a fabulous shopping centre with Vue cimema, mecca casino, a number of restaurants, gym and retail parks. It is a 5 minute drive or bus journey from Margate. Nearby Broadstairs and Ramsgate also offer a good day out or evening entertainment.

"Margate - surprising and with a world class gallery and stunning sunsets."

"Lovely spacious modern seafront Apartment"

A light and airy spacious 2 bed 2 bath flat with every possible facility. Very well equipped kitchen and good quality bathrooms. Central heating was a great comfort as it was -2 and snowing. Genuinely home from home feel about the place. Wifi facilities were a must but a bit patchy some days. The one down side for a two week stay was a lack of washing machine but in the overall picture this is a fabulous place to stay.

"Everything we could ask for"

We wanted a cheap getaway, close to the beach & good restaurants that are suitable for our 7 year old. After doing extensive research, we discovered that margate is only 90 minutes away from home & in the part of the world that is always sunny on the daybreak map!
The garden apartment is an excellent base for day trips to the beach or for visiting any of the local attractions - and at the end of the day, we spent our time either relaxing in the apartment (watching the supplied DVD collection, or one of the digital tv channels), or walking to one of the many excellent local restaurants.
The apartment is very cleverly laid out, allowing us to have our own ensuite, while our daughter had a separate bathroom (with full size bath to rinse off all the sand!!)
Comfy sofa's, family dining table, beautiful views, window shutters, contemporary decoration, outside dining area (that you can dry off your wetsuit!) - a beautiful apartment that I cannot recommend highly enough

"Bright, airy, spacious and stylish"

We stayed 3 weeks and enjoyed the flat a lot. It is well-equipped, well laid-out and in a great position, an easy walk into town or to the harbour, the beach, etc. The rooms are large and the impression is modern and comfortable. Great sunsets over the sea from the front room. We ate outside at the back on several occasions, even barbecued in the rain. It was actually fun to sit there at 9.30pm! We always found a place to park the car outside or nearby (and even on a double yellow overnight once. No one seemed to bother). It would have been nice to be met on arrival, or provided with instructions on how to get in before we arrived! And little things like the very poor TV (and email) reception were a drawback for our 7-year old (luckily we had some DVDs). Some of the lights turned themselves off and on in the evening. Eventually these were changed. We could have done with a sharp knife in the kitchen, a washing machine rather than a dish-washer, and the mattresses were unbelievably lumpy and uncomfortable. But otherwise it was a very good place to stay indeed.

It's always good to get feedback and we're glad this guest enjoyed his stay in the Garden apartment. If only he had mentioned the issues with beds etc during his 3 week stay we would have been able to make him more comfortable. We have since upgraded the beds and supplied an alternative Internet connection.
