About the home

This lovely, light apartment has retained many original Georgian features with high ceilings, tall sash windows and a beautiful marble fireplace in the living room. Awarded a four star rating from Quality in Tourism. It has a well- equipped kitchen and a large bathroom with a separate walk-in shower. There are two bedrooms, a large double bedroom at the back and a pretty twin bedroom with seaviews at the front, which can also be made up as a double. A separate utility room has a washing machine and is perfect for storing suitcases, beach gear and muddy boots!

Linen and towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels. A basic welcome pack is included for weekly stays, however we can provide a hamper of your choice at an extra cost.
For winter bookings there is an extra charge for heating depending on length of stay. Please check with owner.
Wifi is available for internet access.

All the main attractions of Margate are within easy walking distance making this the perfect place to start your holiday, any time of the year.

There are several steps to the main front entrance and the apartment itself is situated on the first floor. It may not be ideally suited to those who have difficulty with stairs. However, there are no steps within the flat itself.

Free on - street parking. If no spaces are available, a reasonably priced car park can be found just behind the property.

The rental dates run Friday to Friday with arrival between 3.30pm and 6.00pm and departure before 10.30 am. This is to allow the owners to clean and prepare the property for you and the following guests. Other times/dates may be available with prior arrangement.
A Security deposit of £100 is required (see booking conditions) to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection)
25% of the rental fee to be paid on booking with the balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival.
Linens and towels are provided, however towels for the beach are not so please remember to pack them. If you forget, then Primark is a short walk away!

The Margate area

Margate has many delights, the most recent addition being the Turner Contemporary which is transforming the Old Town into an area for artists and craftspeople. As well as the good old fish and chip shop, there are a number of good restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs serving local fare to choose from, so something for everyone.
There are miles of beautiful coastline to explore either on foot or by bike, with evening walks along the promenade watching the sun setting across the water. You can visit Botany Bay and play pirates in the hidden caves, or just enjoy the sandy beaches at Joss and Kingsgate Bays.
Dreamland, at the heart of Margate and for many generations, the premier amusement park in the South of England is currently being restored to once again become one of the major draws to the seaside.
For those of you who love a bargain, there are a host of junk shops in the Northdown Road area and in the Old Town a Saturday Farmers Market and a Craft and Antiques Market on Sunday. Margate also has some of the best vintage clothes shops around. There's a lively local jazz music scene and The Winter Gardens continues to present many acts from around the UK and beyond.

By road: Margate is approx 1 hour from the Dartford crossing via the M2/ A2 and A299, 30 minutes from the Eurotunnel Terminal at Ashford and easily accessed via the Channel ports of Ramsgate and Folkestone.

By rail: The apartment is approx 15 mins walk along the seafront from Margate Train Station with an hourly high speed service from London St Pancras International and two per hr from London Victoria.

Local transport: 5 mins walk from Margate town centre with local train/ bus links. There is a bus stop within 100m of the apartment offering a loop service to Broadstairs, Ramsgate and the new Westwood Cross shopping centre.

The nearest airport is Manston with direct flights from Edinburgh and Belfast.

“Really nice apartement in a really nice place” The apartement was very nice equipped and furnished. “Elegant accommodation with a beautiful view of the sea” Many people would at first be dismissive of Margate as a holiday destination. But things are changing within this once grand seaside town. The elegance is making a welcome return, and guess what .... the fun too. Our apartment was a welcoming combination of chic, warmth and all the comforts of home, with a few very thoughtful extras thrown in for good measure. Picking up the keys couldn't have been made more simple, and any further help was only a phone call away at any time. We were made to feel important and cared for, not just holiday makers grabbing a week away for rest and relaxation. Plenty to do, with much to see, I would recommend this apartment to as many people as I could. It was simply .... perfect.

“Lovely” My husband, son and I were visiting family in England and stayed a week at this apartment. It was really clean , nicely decorated and well equiped. The area was slightly run down but once inside you could not tell. It was a quiet building and was close to the shops and some great restaurants. I really don't have anything negative to say, we felt very comfortable during our stay.

“A lovely relaxing holiday in ideal apartment” We had a lovely holiday in this beautifully equipped apartment, tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. It is also very close to the Turner Contemporary, harbour and the Old Town. Absolutely brilliant. A great base to explore the North East Kent coastline and stll enjoy the comforts of home. “Delightful - a great find, well located with great views” We stayed at this apartment for Easter. It was spotless, well equipped and beautifully decorated, a lot of thought had gone into making sure it was easy to arrive and enjoy. We could walk to everywhere or just stay inside and watch the sea from the window. We hope to return for another relaxing break later in the year. Response: Hope to welcome you again in the future.

“Gorgeous, stylish, well equipped flat with sea view” We stayed in this lovely Georgian conversion for 3 nights with our young sons - aged 4 and 8. The flat was really nicely decorated and extremely well equipped - washing machine, dishwasher, plently of glasses, cutlery etc. Wonderful high ceilings made everything seem very spacious. The flat also had a wonderful sea view. Our bed, a good sized double, was extremely comfortable and the boys loved their bedroom which like the living room, had a sea view. There were loads of lovely cafes and restaurants within 2 or 3 minutes walk in the Old Town and it was only a few minutes more to the main sandy beach. Whilst we were there we also drove to Broadstairs (15 mins) and Whitstable (30 mins). The flat is extremely well appointed for exploring the Kent Coast. We loved our time at Seaview Crescent and are planning to return there later in the year. Response: Margate has some great restaurants with more opening all the time. Hope to to see you again.

“Very comfortable and nice apartment” It's really a nice and comfortable apartment, very close to the town center, the beach and the train and bus station. You can really feel like you are at home because the owner has thought in every detail and every thing you can need. I would like to thank Sarah for her attentions and politeness.
