Temeraire Court is on the seafront at the Cliftonville end of Margate. The apartment was refurbished in 2007 and is within the former Fort Lodge hotel. The original building reflects Margate's Georgian heritage as a holiday destination for prosperous Londoners. The apartment is 1 minutes walk from the seafront and is perfectly situated for the town and main beach attractions and for the fabulous quiet beaches at Walpole and Palm Bay. You will enjoy a lovely sea view from the living room window offering the a unique place to watch the sunrise in the East and sunset to the West

Temeraire Court is a lovely development of individual apartments restored from the historic Georgian Fort Lodge hotel overlooking Margate's sandy beaches and cliff tops. The apartment is spacious and is situated on the ground floor with sea views from the living room deep bay window (this is not a full sea view as there are a few hedges to the front, although there are sea views to the East and West). Many of the original Georgian features have been retained and the interior has been beautifully finished to a high standard and furnished in a simple contemporary style to complement the classic Georgian architecture.

The apartment has a large and airy open plan living/ dining room with kitchen and breakfast bar and plenty of space for the double sofa bed and wardrobe storage in the living area. The large bedroom has a King-size bed and wardrobe and drawer storage. The new bathroom with oversize bath and shower and heated towel rail.

The apartment is equipped with all that you need to experience a luxurious and relaxing break. There is a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine/ tumble dryer, microwave and fridge freezer. The living room has an entertainment centre with 26" digital TV, DVD/CD player, surround sound system. There are a number of books, games DVDs and CDs provided for your use or you could just watch the spectacular sun sets from the living room bay window.

The apartment has been decorated and furnished in a contemporary style and has a stylish and yet comfortable feel.

The apartment is on the ground floor. However there is a step up to the main entrance door and within the property itself.

The letting days are Saturday to Saturday with arrival after 4.00pm and departure before 10.30am. Please visit our website for terms and conditions Short breaks are available in low season for a minimum of 5 nights.

PARKING There is free parking on the street outside the building and on nearby streets. Spaces are usually easy to find but there are also 2 nearby car parks at approximately £3 for 24 hours.

Margate is one of the forgotten jewels of our seaside heritage. It has a proud history of holiday making since Georgian times. It boast many historic buildings in the Old Town and on the seafront and is enjoying an upsurge due partly to a developing arts movement. The £18million Turner Contemporary gallery will be opened in 2010. However, Margate also retains its tradtional seaside appeal and has beautiful clean, sandy beaches, good bars, restaurants and coffee shops. It offers a base for many attractions in Kent and provides a great all year round holiday destination

Margate is a great base for visits to nearby Ramsgate, Folkestone, Canterbury and Rochester. Take a daytrip to France by Ferry from Folkestone or Eurotunnel from Ashford. Kent is full of attractions and amusements for all age groups and budgets.

Margate beach is a major attraction and is a Blue Flag beach having won Seaside Awards

Margates other attractions include bowling, swimming, leisure centre, night life, arts centre, museum, jet sking , sailing, guided rock pool walksetc. The tourism office in Margate Harbour is a good source of local information and the apartment has a folder with brochures and information to help you get the most from your holiday.

Nearby Westwood Cross offers a fabulous shopping centre with Vue cimema, mecca casino, a number of restaurants, gym and retail parks. It is a 5 minute drive or bus journey from Margate. Nearby Broadstairs and Ramsgate also offer a good day out or evening entertainment.

"A great place to stay to explore Margate and the surrounding area"

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE GARDEN APARTMENT

This is a really beautiful and comfortable apartment looking over the sea. Despite it being the coldest March on record, the apartment was always warm and cozy to come back to after our many long walks along the beaches. The apartment is really well equipped with everything you need for your stay; we certainly didn't want for anything.

Although the kitchen is perfectly well equipped for cooking, if you fancy eating out there are plenty of really good cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. Of note are Forts (at the end of Fort Crescent, a minute's walk from the apartment) which does superb breakfasts, and as a special treat the Ambrette serves Indian food with a twist, a million miles away from the traditional curries served in most Indian restaurants.

For ale lovers, the Lifeboat in the old town is well worth a visit, serving local ales straight from the cask, along with Kentish wines, ciders and perry. They also serve delicious local cheeses, pies, pickles and chutneys.

Margate has certainly seen better days; we both grew up in Kent and have many happy memories of day trips to the town and Dreamland from our childhoods and from when we first got together as a couple. However, there seems to be a concerted effort to regenerate Margate and it's well worth a visit. I would absolutely recommend the Garden apartment as a place to stay and explore the area.

"Very well equipped and central to allsorts of activities"

This apartment was a lovely welcomming place to stay with great sea views.We stayed over New Year to travel into London for the celebrations.A 15 minute walk along the promenade to the railway station with direct links to the city.There are shops really close by.The bus links are great so saves driving around.I would definitely recommend this apartment as I dont think anyone could find peak season accomodation at low rate prices

"Lovely sunny well equipped apartment"

Lovely apartment, very clean and well equipped, everything we could have needed was supplied which was much appreciated. 10 mins walk to fantastic margate beach and the town centre, with local shops and cafes on the doorstep. Very easy and pleasant booking system and a much enjoyed holiday, thank you!

"Nice little apartment"

Spent a very pleasant week here. Very well-equipped little apartment with lovely direct sea view from the living room window. We would have preferred one of the two-bed apartments but took this as the others were booked and it did the job nicely. There were a few items missing that we had to pick up - corkscrew, toilet roll, oil & vinegar, etc, the Wi-Fi was virtually non-existent, and the owner needs to monitor the cleaners performance but apart from the quibbles, a nice place. The area is a bit seedy and run down but we rather liked it's quirkiness. The apartment is also very well situated for visiting the Town centre and the Turner. Forts Cafe (out of apartment, turn right, 100 yards) is brilliant. Also forget Pete's chippy down the road and head straight for Godwin's in Cliftonville 'round the corner ; )

I think that this guest unfortunately stayed in the apartment after it was left in a particularly bad state by the previous guests (thankfully this is a rare occurrence) . Our cleaner struggled to get it up to standard in time but obviously something was missed and we were very upset by this as we take housekeeping and cleanliness very seriously.

The wifi signal is fairly weak and we provide a signal booster in the apartment and the guest was unable to find it.
