Home description

Our charming and tranquil countryhouse with 5000 m2 property -situated in peaceful rural surroundings with meadows and olive trees- was originally a farmhouse from the 18th century. Parts of the building with its old stone walls still give evidence.
It is in the original part of the house where the little apartment is situated with its own entrance and a terrace in front. The apartment sleeps two with possibility for one child (sofa-bed using).
Our property is distant only a few minutes drive from the beautiful medieval town of Massa Marittima.

The Tuscany region

The region - called Maremma - is the coastal area of beautiful rural South Tuscany.
From our countryhouse to the beach is a 20 minutes drive.

Maremma / Massa Marittima area

The Southern part of Tuscany with its unspoiled coastline of sandy beaches and pine groves and a hilly countryside is called Maremma. It is a region full of ancient history, Etruscan sites, nature reserves, pretty old market towns and lifely seaside resorts.
In the heart of the Maremma -about 1300 feet above sea level- lies Massa Marittima with a view towards the sea and with beautiful surroundings .
The geographicalposition of the town is an ideal base for exploring:
-Firenze, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, Siena and Volterra
-the Isle of Elba and
-Etruscan sights of the region as well as nature reserves

Massa Marittima is a small medieval town with a long history. Its cathedral and the unusual square in the town centre are famous together with the palaces dating back to 1225 when the town became a city state. It is a town with narrow streets and little squares where strolling around or having a good and genuine meal and tasty wine in one of the characteristic restaurants or caffes is most enjoyable.

There are golf courses in Scarlino/Pelagone (20 minutes drive) and in Punta Ala (40 minutes drive).
