Be near the Mediterranean beaches, the lively city of Narbonne, within an easy drive of Carcassonne but still in the grounds of a lovely chateau on the edge of the village of Marcorignan!
These charming two-bedroomed houses have been created from the fortified farm buildings of a family-owned chateau. Inside, they are modern and simply furnished and each house has its own private terrace. The pictures shown are typical of the houses and accommodation available.
The chateau grounds are extensive (6 acres) and great for walking or cycling through olive groves, pine trees, vineyards, garrigue and cornfields. The big garden is planted with a variety of trees and oleanders. The shared swimming pool gets the sun all day. The garden is a great place to play for children with swings, volleyball, basket-ball, table tennis and boules.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Aude region
This part of the Languedoc has a sunny, Mediterranean climate. It can be hot in summer, but the temperature is often tempered by a breeze. Now the 3rd most visited region in France by British people, the Languedoc offers something for everyone. Miles of long, sandy beaches, coastal lagoons, vibrant cities such as Narbonne and Montpellier, historical sites such as Carcassonne and the Cathar castles, fabulous scenery, great cuisine and vineyards, vineyards, vineyards.
Marcorignan area
The local village Marcorignan is just a 5-minute walk away. There you'll find a grocer, a baker, a pharmacy, a pizzeria, a take-away restaurant and a bar. As well as all the activities available in the chateau grounds, you can play tennis in Marcorignan, and there's also a horse-riding centre locally.
There's a large twice-weekly outdoor market in Narbonne.
This a a great base for exploring this lovely region. The fine sandy beaches and salt-water lagoons of the Languedoc coast are only a short drive away. You can explore the Canal du Midi and its staircase of locks at Fontseranes near Beziers. The medieval city of Carcassonne can be reached by car in about 30 minutes. Both adults and children can enjoy a great day out at the African Nature Reserve at Sigean.
How to get there
The property is just 10-15 minutes away from Narbonne by car - the nearest motorway exit is No: 38 on the A9 Languedocienne motorway. Full directions will be given upon reservation.
Perpignan, Montpellier, Nimes and Carcassonne airports (all served by low-cost airlines from Great Britain) are all within approximately 1 hour's drive of the property.

The living room and kitchen are open plan. They are simply but comfortably furnished with a sofa, chairs, a table and lamps. The TV receives French, and some English (CNN, BBC, and Eurosport) and German channels.
The washing machine is in a shared laundry room.
You can connect to the internet here using a WiFi connection.
Further details outdoors: The swimming pool is secured and is in sunny spot in the garden. You'll find sun-loungers there for your use.
Each house has its own private, gravelled terrace with table and chairs for al fresco dining.
Cycle hire is available locally - please ask us for details, bikes can be delivered to your door.

Your end-of-stay cleaning is included in the rental cost.
A high chair and a cot are available for €25 per week, payable direct to the owner.
Bed linen and towels are included in the rental cost. Extra sets of towels can be hired for €7 per person per week.
Between October and May the owners make a small charge for heating, based on usage.
Conditions
Pets - small dogs only are permitted here, but not in July and August. There is a supplemetary charge of €40 payable direct to the owner.
The owner requests a damage deposit of €240 on arrival. This is refunded at the end of your stay less the replacement cost of any breakages.
