Nixon's Old Home - Waterfront (villa)

Home description

Our house is constantly being updated/upgraded. In the last three years we have replaced all the furniture in the bedrooms (except one high quality dresser that was saved for sentimental reasons). All the bedrooms have been newly floored (except the hardwood floor in the upstairs bedroom).

We have recently purchased high quality new sheets. All bedrooms have private entrance to bathrooms and are equipped with dresser, 20-inch Cable TVs (some with DVDs) and alarm clocks. All the appliances including the washer and dryer have been replaced in the past two years.

The living room, dining room and kitchen have either new tile or laminate wood flooring. The kitchen is very modern with a wonderful breakfast bar that overlooks the pool. This premium property is located in a prestigious neighborhood and is a 5 minute drive (10 minutes by bicycle) to Marco Island's fabulous 3 mile powdery (talcum powder) white sand beaches. The property has water access to the superb inland waterways of Marco Island.

The Florida / Florida Gulf Coast region

We are located 30 minutes away from the exciting Everglades boat rides.

There are plenty of discount malls nearby as well as some of the best high-end shopping in the US only 20 minutes away in Naples.

The Gulf coast is known for its wonderful weather all year round with temperatures typically between 23-33c ( 70 to 90F) degrees.

Marco Island area

Marco Island is known for it exceptional weather and wonderful beaches which are made of wonderful white "talcum powder like" sand. You can enjoy fishing, sailing and kayaking in the mangroves.

There are two marinas only 5 minutes away that rent boats by the hour or by the day. Usually you will see dolphins and manatees when out on the water.

Some of the best beaches and golf courses are all around Marco Island. Nice laid back atmosphere but all the modern amenities. The entire island is only 4 miles by 6 miles and accessible by bridge from the mainland.

There are plenty of grocery stores, restaurants and even Starbucks on the island.

There are plenty of places to play tennis for free and there is a nice yacht club for dinner.

How to get there

Fort Myers is the closest airport approximately 45 minutes away.

Fort Lauderdale is 1.5 hours away (all highway driving so very easy)

Miami is 2 hours away (some city driving but mostly highway)

Orlando is 4 hours away (all highway driving)

The layout of this air-conditioned house is fantastic with 3 different buildings in an L-shape design (all under one roof) built around the pool. The main building has the living room, formal dining room, kitchen, the master bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The living room has a 42-inch flatscreen TV with VCR & DVD player.
One of the walls in the living room is all windows that overlooks the pool area so people can sit in the living room and visit while still being able to keep an eye on people in the pool area. There are 3 sofas, so there is plenty of places to sit. The dining room has a formal dining table and 10 chairs.
The kitchen is brand new and has all the modern amenities including a microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher and coffee maker.
The second building has 3 bedrooms with 2.5 more bathrooms - one of the bath and bedrooms is located upstairs. Every bedroom has a private entrance to a bathroom.

The third building has a laundry room and a separate pool bath and shower that is great for those getting up early that don't want to bother anyone and a 2-car garage.

The large pool is surrounded by a very large 1,000 square foot deck area that is perfect for those that want to lay out around the pool. We include free internet and free cable TV in all the rooms.

Most Marco Island homes have either very little area for 'laying out' near the pool or get very little sunshine. Our pool area faces the 'all important' south direction for maximum sunshine. We have extra lounge chairs & tables to relax around the large 20x40 foot, heated, in-ground pool.

Tennis facilities and some of the best public golf courses in the United States are nearby. The Island has two or three marinas where you can rent a boat (cruiser or pontoon) for the day to check out the inland waterways and picnic on the Gulf beaches or go up to Naples.

The Everglades National Park is a 30 minute drive. There are several spas on the island for those interested in a relaxing massage. There is a yoga studio nearby that offers several yoga classes to the public and there is also a very nice YMCA on the island.
