About this location
The Midi-Pyrénées region
A Puntos is situated on the outskirts of the small village of Mont de Marrast located on the south edge of the Gers with the closet town being Tri Sur Biase, some 5-6k away.
Right on the border between the Midi Pyrennees and the Gers, the house offers total seclusion, peace and tranquillity is guaranteed in the heart of SW France.... the only interruption can be the sound of a tractor working the fields close by.
The house is only 20 minutes drive from the town of Marciac which hosts the world famous jazz festival in July/August and similarly situated from Mirande, where a similarly famous Country and Western festival draws large crowds annually.
The Tour de France takes place every June/July in France and will most definitely pass through a town nearby and, with its enormous circus atmosphere, is most definitely a "must see".
Pau, the gentle university town with historic links to Briton, amazing château and unique architecture should not be missed. and Toulouse, France's second city, is also a bustling university town with great shopping and numerous bars and restaurants.
The Spanish border is only two hours drive away, their ski slopes are wonderful and back in the local towns, there will be a local market every day close by where local produce can be purchased.
The area is, of course, is famous for Fois Gras, Armagnac and Cote du Gascogne wine, all easily sourced from local providers.
Atlantic attractions such as Biaritz, famous for its beautiful people, fabulous beaches, water sports and trendy lifestyle is easily accessed.

We have been staying in gites all over France for years and this is by far one of the best. The house is very well equipped, very clean and has plenty of space. There are a number of places to sit outside and eat/enjoy a drink. The pool is wonderful, great that it's heated! The views are breath taking and we never tired of them. The gardens are extensive and well maintained. The beds are comfortable, the pillows and sheets were clean and changed mid holiday, along with the towels. We cannot recommend this house highly enough. The local area is very pretty and the locals are friendly. The local town has good amenities if you don't want to travel much but you're not too far from the mountains and they are well worth a visit.
Thanks very much for you kind comments.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay at A Puntos and I would like to say that you and your party would be welcome back anytime.
As I said in my email, Mirren will definitely miss the company of Tru
Also thanks for leaving the place in such impeccable condition.

"not long enough!!!"
Having stayed in this area previously we know the area, the benefit of this property is the land that comes with it, three kids able to run play, hide and seek, rope swing for the kids just everything about it meant that we could lounge by the pool, or sit on the comfortable rattan furniture in the shade by the pool, suited our whole family aged 4 - 46, it suited us all. I cannot put into word the first morning as I opened the shutters with the view of the sun rising on the snow capped "Pic du Midi" and the pyrenees just an hour away, shops very accessible just 5 minutes away and the neighbours / owners dog was an added treat, apparently one of the most photographed dogs in France and I can understand why she was a real treat for the kids with a lovely tempriment, we where met by the owners and made welcome from the moment we arrived the hospitality and local knowledge a real help. having stayed in France for the last 14 years I can only say this was a home from home with everything we needed and if we can get the dates right we will be back next year without a doubt, peace and tranquility with all the comforts of home, and security so the kids could do what they wanted without beng a nuisance to anyone, they had lots of fun, and we got the rest we wanted.
Thank you for your kind comments. It makes all our hard work worthwhile.
We are really happy you enjoyed your stay at A Puntos and we hope to see you next year if you can make it. The mountains will still be there I am sure.

"Gazing over a warm salted pool....."
This is a dream location; gazing over a warm salted pool to the distant snow capped Pyrenees! The tastefully converted farmhouse is presented spic and span with a sufficient flexibility of bedrooms, all with excellent proper mattresses to suit large families. Ideally, it also has a terrace for alfresco for dining or just sitting out. All the facilities work well and the kitchen being equipped with a 'starter pak' of all the essentials for living.
Helpful hosts, easy access to Trie-sur-Baise (5m.) for shopping and a superb choice of other locations and restaurants at Tillac and Miélan, all accessed on good and clear roads. Ideal lazy pool-side holiday.

"Peace in the Pyrenees"
Beautiful house in a stunning location. Amazing views of the Pyrenees. Abundance of ripe fruit to pick figs galore, Excellent local markets and amenities ie butchers, bakers wine merchants all very friendly with English speaking assistants - perfect recommendations for matching wine to food. Perfect location for soulful recharge. House very comfortable with a good selection of cooking utensils, pots, dishes etc. hosts extremely friendly and very approachable with a good knowledge of local eateries/facilities/attractions. Scenic local walks. Good sized pool with selection of children's toys and sun loungers. Variety of seating areas to suit any occasion. Would highly recommend this place if you enjoy reading books, enjoying local food and wine and relaxing by the pool. Amazing cycle routes for the more energetic. Will definitely be back. P.s the cakes at the local bakery on the Sunday "a must". Oh and of coarse the local fois gras :-)
