The Valenciana region
The Costa Blanca/Valencia region
Valencia is a land rich in history and culture. The capital combines the best of old and new. Gandia (home of the Borgias and one of the oldest European universities) is the favorite holiday destination for the people from Madrid. With a combination of rich gastronomy, a cosmopolitan lifestyle, friendly locals and its famous blue flag beach, it is an ideal destination.
The beautiful city of Valencia is only a 50 minute train journey away. Here you will find magnificent ornate buildings, churches, a cathedral and a fantastic indoor food market (a visit is well recommended). The Oceanographic aquarium is just a few minutes ride from the centre of the city which has a fantastic night show. During the summer months there are plenty of traditional Spanish fiestas nearby, with parades in national costumes, entertainment, and usually end with a spectacular fireworks display. The water park at Cullera is within a half hour drive, and is a wonderful day out for those with young children. Other tourist resorts such as Denia, Javea, Calpe and Benidorm are all within 30 minutes to an hour's drive away, and the Seve Ballesteros designed golf course at Oliva Nova is only a 15 minute drive away. The property is centrally located, with stunning mountain views, and is a superb base for the perfect family vacation.
Set in the beautiful valley of Marxuquera, amongst the orange groves, this is the perfect base for walking, bird watching and cycling and the area is well renowned for climbing. The property is only 10 minutes from the beautiful white sandy beaches of Gandia, with an abundance of bars, restaurants and shops, and here you can easily rent bicycles, go on fishing trips, or a boat ride around the harbour. Within easy walking distance of the property you will find a typical Spanish bar/restaurant, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink or two, with some delicious tapas.
Convenient for Valencia and Alicante airports, Gandia has traditionally been the favorite holiday destination of Madrid.
The town has two large commercial centres and most form of sport can be found including horse riding, tenpin bowling, fishing and golf.
Within easy distance are theme and water parks, zoos and safari centres. There are an abundance of restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets.
The Fallas of Valencia in March are internationally known but throughout the year all the local towns and villages have fiestas including 'Moors and Christians'.
As the home of paella, rice and seafood are the principal staples with oranges and grapevines being the prime source of earnings.

We stayed in the villa for one week and we couldn't have asked for anything better. The villa is always clean and the owners were making sure that we had everything that we needed. This is by far the cleanest place we have stayed in. The villa itself is very spacious and having the advantage of having our own kitchen and cleaning facilities made it even better. The surrounding areas is always kept clean and the swimming pool was fantastic and our kids made good use of this. The owners made us feel welcome and are always on hand if we needed anything. The villa is situated in a quiet estate and there's a bar and restaurant a 2min walk away. The city and beach is a simple 10mins drive away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone. We sure will be returning here in the near future.

"Great time in Casa Montepino"
We stayed in Montepino, the owners were very friendly and offered to help at any opportunity.
There is a large well maintained pool, the bedrooms are clean and well kept, as is the whole general area. It's a quiet location, but within easy reach (10-15 mins) of towns and beaches.

"A lovely holiday in pleasant surroundings and beautiful beaches"
We enjoyed our stay at the Casa Montepino. The apartment was very light and spacious and spotlessly clean. The bedding and towels were changed regularly and nothing was too much trouble for them. There is a lovely big swimming pool with plenty of sun beds and a safe play area for the children.Just a ten minute drive is the city of Gandia which has a beautiful long sandy beach with plenty of things for the children to do. Gandia comes alive at night with plenty of bars and restaurants there is so much going on.
Thank you very much for the nice comments glad you enjoyed your stay at Casa montepino we hope to see you next year.
