The apartment comprises the ground floor of a private two story villa.

It is situated on a pine covered, quiet hillside area dotted with villas, enjoying stunning mountain views and a vista across wide valleys of orange groves (bursting with fruit between October and March and scented with beautiful blossom in April). It is only 10 minutes drive from the historic and bustling town of Gandia with its 8km of Blue Flag fine sandy beaches and promenades.

The climate is mild all year round and hot in summer.

There are lots of walks around for both serious walkers or those just wanting to stretch their legs and enjoy the views. There is wild rosemary everywhere and combined with the pine trees it is a sensory delight.

The area is ideal for serious mountain bikers – the Tour de France teams train here – and climbers.

There is ample parking space for two cars that can be secured by locking the gates at any time. All the major car hire companies operate at Valencia and Alicante airports or we suggest Economy car hire at

A car is essential.

Many small villages are dotted all around. Up the mountain road is the town of Barx that remains very Spanish despite a large community of expats in La Drova. There are several restaurants here and the food and drink are excellent and incredibly well priced (e.g. full pizzas for £5 and house wine at £3.50 per bottle on our last trip!).

Gandia is also famous for its beaches. The white sandy beaches stretch for 8km and are fringed with palm trees and a wide promenade with plenty of restaurants and bars.

Just down the road is the smaller town of Oliva that is quieter but still has beautiful beaches. It also boasts the Seve Ballesteros designed Oliva Nova Gold Club for any golf enthusiasts.

Valencia city is well worth a visit and the easiest and most cost effective way is to jump on the train in Gandia and go directly to Valencia for about £7 return.

If you have kids and want a fun day out then Benidorm and its many attractions (including Terra Mitica theme park and Aquilandia water park) is an hour's drive away.

"A lovely apartment with stunning views and a great pool"

This apartment is very well equipped, tastefully furnished and with much more than we would have expected to be provided. But what wins hands down is the fantastic pool area and secluded terraces. T… More
