Welcome to our 190 square meter city apartment in Marbella with just 50 meter to the beach front.
We are actually located IN Marbella City Center, with Marbella City Center zip code. We can actually see and smell the mediterranean sea from our terrace and what you see on the pictures is actually what you rent!
When standing on Avenida Miguel Cano (the street where we live) the beachfront with the famous paseo and all it's restaurants will be just down the street, visible from where you stand. When turning around Casco Antiguo, the famous cosy old town of Marbella, starts less than 100 meters from our front door.
We live here on a permanent basic but due to work we both travel a lot. However when living in such an amazing country as Spain and at the same time living on the coast of Costa del Sol, why not live with the most perfect location, in a historical building with the most wicked terrace?
Well that's what we thought when searching for a place to live, and so it happen, that the two pale white Danes from up North ended up with the most amazing apartment, with the most amazing location in the most amazing city in literally all of Spain!
So WELCOME to our little Danish oasis in the middle of magnificent Marbella!
This building is designed and constructed by one of the most famous and respected builders in Marbella, who were the first to design buildings with staggered floors in Spain. We are fortuned enough to resident on the 3rd floor...
And it is from here that we conquer the world, step by step, country by country - and when we do that, we gladly welcome you to stay in our home when we are gone!
The building contains restaurants, specialty stores and a delicacy shop in street level, a wonderful Spanish garden in the middle and on top where the apartments are, that's where we live!
The building and the garden in the middle is secured by a beautiful gate, that closes each night at 9.00 pm by the guard.
However, start by taking the elevator up to the 3rd floor and do feel at home the whole way up!
When you enter our home, the first you'll see is the hallway combined with the living room. Here you find coat hangers, build-in closet, mirror and parking space for your outdoor shoes.
On your left hand you'll see the small guest toilet and in front of you, you'll find the kitchen, which contains everything you need, from beer, wine and shot glasses to plates, pots and pans.
<b>Ceramic hobs,</b> <b>convention oven,</b> <b>hood,</b> <b>dishwasher,</b> <b>microwave oven</b> and <b>concealed fridge/freezer</b> - and our beloved <b>Bosch Tassimo coffee machine!</b> Please do feel free to use whatever you find in our cupboards, freezer and fridge; it's there for the same reason.
It's also in the kitchen we keep our <b>wine fridge,</b> with controlled temperature. We love wine and we know that you probably love wine too - so feel free to dig into the TOP wine fridge. Just remember to replace any wine you drink with a new wine.
The BOTTOM wine fridge is ours. That's where we keep the wine we find around the world when traveling, those wines we would like to drink ourself, so please respect that we decline sharing those!
In the kitchen there's also a small cozy eating area - if you are more people than fit in there, you can eat in the living room at the dining table with room for 6+ people or on the terrace.
Through the kitchen you find the pantry, with <b>washing machine</b>, <b>dryer</b> and extra storage space. This is also where all sorts of cleaning equipment, shoe polish etc. is, in case you feel like using some of those things.
In the living room, there is splendid view over the street below and the ocean when looking to the right - in the summer the sun reflect on the marble floor and fills the room with an amazing light.
In the wintertime when the temperature drops to Northern European summer standard (20-25 degrees c.) the sun heats up the marble floor and makes the living room feel like summer all over again.
Behind the dining table there is a "hidden wall". The wall slides sideways and reveals another set of shelf. We think it's kind of cool!
In the other end of the living room you find our cozy white designer leather couches, a large selection of books in both Danish and English and our <b>42" 3D flat screen TV.</b> The TV is only connected to our <b>Apple TV,</b> but feel free to log in and use it - just remember to log out again! There is also a lot of <b>DVD's</b> and a <b>DVD player</b> - feel free to take an evening on the couches and enjoy some entertainment!
From the living room there is access to the hallway that leads to the 3 different bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the apartment.
Depending on how many people you are, we'll lock the other rooms that you are not using/renting.
If you are just 2 people, you'll get acces to one bedroom and one bathroom. If you are 4 people, you'll get acces to two bedrooms and one bathroom, if you are more than 4 people you'll get acces to 2 bathrooms and so on.
When first entering the hallway you find our master bedroom on the left hand. It has a 140x200 cm semi hard mattress and two summer duvets and pillows. The duvets and the pillows are all washed after each booking period, so you can be sure it is all <b>100% clean.</b> The bed sheets are made by the danish Designer Susanne Schjerning and are <b>ironed</b> after each wash, so it's really crispy and nice to crawl into, after a long day in this amazing city! There is also a closet with space for your cloth.
The next room on your left hand is our guest room - it's spacious and got two big closets for your cloth. In here is a brand new bed with a semi hard 140x200 cm mattress - also with <b>newly ironed crispy bed sheets.</b>
The last room on your left hand is another guestroom which originally is build to be the master bedroom, but we like the one we have. In here you find a brand new double bunk bed with new semi hard mattresses - double bunk bed means that the bottom is a double bed, with a brand new 140x200 cm semi hard mattress and on top, up the ladder there is a single 90x200 cm bed, also with a brand new semi hard mattress - <b>both beds also have crispy newly ironed bed sheets!</b>
There's also a closet where we keep different <b>beach toy</b> such as <b>beach balls,</b> <b>shovel,</b> <b>bucket,</b> <b>air mattresses,</b> <b>beach umbrella</b> etc. Please feel free to use it - the beach is after all just 50 meters away (so who needs a chlorine-filled pool anyway?)
- just remember to wipe off all the sand before putting it back in the closet!
There's also plenty of fresh clean towels in the closet, feel free to use them. Just remember not to put anything wet, like wet towels into the laundry basket, smelly earthy towels are just not our thing or the next guests' thing! It's actually quite nasty!
On the right side of the hallway and in the end, you'll find the 2 bathrooms of the apartment. Both bathroom are rather large, and both have a bathtubs combined with showers, a wonderful make-up mirror, separate toilet and one even have a bidet. The bathrooms are kept in light colors and have white/grey marble on the walls and floor.
<h2>Our Roof Terrace</h2>
Through the living room there is access to our <b>wonderful roof terrace</b> through an entire wall of windows that provides an amazing light. The roof terrace can be enjoyed all year around, even on the hot <b>Costa-del-Sol summer days,</b> as there is plenty of shades.
On the roof terrace there is<b> a dinning table for 4 people,</b> <b>a corner couch</b> with small tables and <b>2 sofa chairs</b> with soft cushions made of plaited reeds, <b>a gas grill</b> for those amazing evening barbecue and loads of <b>flowers,</b> <b>herbs</b> and <b>strawberry plants</b> - and <b>a watering can</b> that we would really appreciate if you would use every day, so our flowers and plants stay green and fresh! Feel free to use any herbs that you like, if you are cooking.
<h2>Do you smoke?</h2>
If you are a smoker, you may smoke as much as you feel like, <b>on the roof terrace,</b> but please DO NOT smoke inside our apartment!! This is a NON-smoking apartment!
As it is really hot most of the time in Marbella, it is by city law only allowed to throw trash into the dumpsters that are right outside our apartment AFTER 9 pm in the evening!
This is to minimize the waste odor during the daytime - if you however throw trash in the dumpsters outside the indicated times you may be fined 1500€. If this happens, the fine is 100% on your own bill!
If you bring <b>a rental car,</b> it is possible to park in the public underground parking garage with video surveillance and 24 hours staffed just 100 meters from the front door to the apartment.
The price in 2013 is 25€ pr. day, 45€ for 3 days, 80€ for 5 days, 110€ for 7 days and 140€ for 10 days. If you need to park longere I'll check the prices for you.
As our apartment is placed right in the center of <b>Marbella,</b>very close to the beach and the <b>Orange Square</b> in the old part of Marbella Town, everything is within walking distance.
There are hundreds of restaurants and sometimes it can be difficult to see which ones are good local ones and which ones are tourist traps with lazy service, poor quality of food, nasty toilets and rude staff - so if you are not out for adventures every night, we'll be happy to guide you to some of our favorite places, both in Marbella but also in Puerto Banus (10€ taxi ride away) which is defiantly worth a visit.
It is also possible to take the busses to various places. <b>The bus stop</b> is just up the street from our apartment - maximum 100 meters from the front door and they go everywhere from the huge <b>La Canada Shopping Mall</b> to the shores of <b>Puerto Banus.</b> If you like a slower more old-fashioned kind of transportation there are also a lot of horse carriages on our street.
Basically our home has everything and is close to everything. Innumerable amount of restaurants and take-away places in all price categories, lot of supermarkets and discount shops within walking distance, most of them open from 8 am till 2 pm and from 7 pm till 10 pm or midnight.
<h2>Arrival & The Key</h2>
<b>Marbella</b> is a great and safe town, and we have <b>never ever</b> felt unsecure here. In street level of our apartment complex there is a big black iron gate to each side of the building, that is closed at 21.00 at night (9 pm) by the guard and opened again in the morning. During weekends it is closed at all time and you'll need a key to get through.
However, we have decided to install the most high-tech alarm system available, for that <b>sole reason</b> that it can activate and de-activate the alarm and door lock <b>online via an app on our iphone</b> (sounds geeky right!)
So when you arrive - within the timeframe we have agreed on, all you have to do is make a quick call to us, saying: <b>"I'm outside the door now"</b> and we'll unlock the door and turn off the alarm and let you in.
That makes arrival and check out more flexible for you as a guest and for us as a host.
The keys for the apartment and gate will then be inside on the kitchen table, for you to use while staying here. When you leave again, you just leave the keys on the table, slam the door and send us a text that you have checked out and we can lock the door and turn on the alarm again, until we arrive home.
We also have a friend in <b>Marbella,</b> who have an extra set of keys, in case everything fails. However to this day it has never been the case.
<h2>In our apartment you find this:</h2>
<ul><li>42? flat screen 3D TV connected to our Apple TV</li>
<li>30 MBit Internet (Wi-Fi)</li>
<li>Capsule coffee/chocolate/tea machine</li>
<li>Four ceramic hobs</li>
<li>Large concealed fridge/freezer</li>
<li>Iron and ironing board</li>
<li>Load of soft towels</li>
<li>and the the mediterranean sea, just 60 sek. away!</li>
and if you wish to stay for a longer periode, feel free to ask and let's see if we can find an agreement.
<b>If you want to check in after 8.00 pm in the evening or check out after 11.00 am in the morning, we'll charge you an extra fee at 25€<b></b></b>
