The minute that you open the front door to this spacious two bedroom apartment, you are struck by the stunning views. The property has 1 double bedroom, with a kingsize bed and an en-suite shower room and 1 twin bedroom with a second separate shower room. There is an open plan, comfortable living and dining area with a brand new television and DVD player as well as access to UK freeview channels. This leads out to the sunny balcony with views to the coast and mountains.
The American style kitchen is also fully fitted. The apartment comes with little extras such as beach towels, books, games and DVDs for those nights you decide to stay in. There is a small Weber smokey Joe BBQ which can be used on the balcony.
Las Jacarandas is situated in La Mairena, which is 500 meters above sea level. It is one of the best preserved beauty spots on the Costa del Sol. Here you are living side-by-side with nature and yet only minutes away from the excitement & fun of the coast.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Long a popular destination with Spanish and international tourists, the Costa del Sol enjoys an average of 300 days of sunshine per year. The region boasts numerous long, white-sand beaches which are perfect for sunbathing and taking a dip in the Mediterranean (bathing is safe and there are lifeguards in attendance). All beaches boast amenities such as beach bars and restaurants for your convenience.
However, it's not only sun, sea and sand here on the Costa del Sol! The area also boasts a rich culture which is a beguiling mix of European and Moorish influences. The Moors left this part of Andalucia over seven centuries ago, but their influence is still to be seen in the Islamic architecture in the towns dotted along the coast. After all, the Costa del Sol is only a few kilometres across the sea from North Africa! Other towns worth visiting are the city of Marbella and the smaller town of Mijas. The Costa del Sol is at once typically Spanish and international, with the cosmopolitan influences being noticeable in the area's cuisine and culture.
Marbella / Elviria area
Fun is the emphasis in the Marbella area. Water sports of every description, fishing trips, nature parks, safaris, horse riding etc. are all available within a short distance. Gibraltar is about 1 hour distance away by car. Whether you want a hectic vacation or prefer to chill out, the options are there.
The nearest beach is 10 mins drive from the apartment, with restaurants, beach loungers and beautiful sand.
There is a 9 hole par 3 golf course at El Soto which is a few minutes away, very reasonable rates with a good restaurant and bar for post round snacks.
The renowned El Cala resort is very near with the David Leadbetter Golf school available to brush up on those golf skills.
Also on the outskirts of La Cala is El Jinete which is an equestrian centre with a restaurant which does the best value Menu del Dia for miles around. In Spring 2009 was Euro 7.50 including a bottle of red wine and fanta. Sounds weird but must be tried. Over ice, very refreshing on a hot day.
In the winter months skiing is available in the Sierra Nevada, about one and a half hours away by road.

Further details indoors: Las Jacarandas is a very pretty urbanization nestling amongst the cork oak trees that are a protected feature of the area. There is a secure driveway that leads into the small number of traditionally white painted apartments that comprise Las Jacarandas.
The apartment is comfortably furnished with 2 sofas, dining table and chairs with seating for 4 people. The property is ideal for families, two couples sharing or that romantic break for two, away from it all. The night-time views are almost as stunning as the day-time, with a million twinkling lights in the valley below.
Further details outdoors: Las Jacarandas has a beautiful secluded outdoor swimming pool. The area is also renowned for its excellent golf courses which are nearby. Courses at La Cala, Santa Maria, El Soto, Cala Nova and Rio Real are all within minutes of the apartment.
There are several watering holes and eateries nearby and the world renowned "Hoffsas" tennis academy is on the doorstep. The countryside is magnificent and walking in the hills is available. The property is professionally managed by Hilltop Properties and their staff are on hand to deal with any eventualities.

It was great to be able to enjoy the hubbub of the coast but to be able to retreat to the peace and quiet of the mountain. (J & C May 2009) Very comfortable apartment, friendly neighbours, bars and restaurants within walking distance. Children loved it.
