The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The Costa del Sol is aptly named for its year round excellent climate. The area is best known for its beaches and golf courses. The beach experience can range from the perfect family holiday setting to sophisticated beach club environment.
Meanwhile, Malaga (home of Picasso) and the inland towns of Ronda and Antequera provide much of historical and cultural interest. El Chorro Gorge and the Torcal stones are fabulous natural attractions. Nearby Marbella is famed for its old town with attractive cobbled streets and horse driven carriages, long beach promenade and many shops.
Marbella / Elviria area
Elviria is an eight minute drive from the apartment. It is well equipped with shops and restaurants. There are also more bars and restaurants along the beach, ranging from relaxed chirunguitos to the jetsetting Nikki Beach. There are many other nearby beaches, with Cabopino and its pretty port deserving a mention. The busier entertainment areas of Marbella are 15/20 minutes drive from El Soto, or 10 minutes from Elviria. Visitors should also pay a visit to Puerto Banus, to admire the millionaire yachts or take in the busy Saturday market.
Away from the beach, there are plenty of activities including walking, horseriding, tennis, and golf. The nearest major golf course is Santa Maria, around 5 minutes away from El Soto. Greenlife is also nearby. There are several tennis clubs, of which Club del Sol at Calahonda has regular mix-ins to which you can just turn up.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars in Elviria. The livliest bar is Fluid. The bar at the Don Carlos hotel is a smart drinks destination and, in summer, there is the party atmosphere at Nikki Beach. The Beach House restaurant has a great setting and good food. There is also Kudu bar, just next door to the development, which serves food and drinks, and restaurant Messina. Of course, Marbella and Puerto Banus have plenty to offer in terms of nightlife.
How to get there
The nearest airport is Malaga, around 30 minutes away. Malaga is served by a range of budget airlines, including Easyjet, Monarch, Thompsonfly, as well as BA and other scheduled airlines.
Car hire is recommended as, although there is a good bus service along the coast, there is an 8 minute drive up the hill from the mainroad to the development.
There are also taxi services available at Elviria.

Further details indoors: The main bedroom comes with double bed, spacious fully fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside tables. The second bedroom can be configured either as a double or twin bedded room. It has spacious wardrobe and drawer space and bedside tables. There is an en suite bathroom to bedroom one, with bath (with shower attachment and jacuzzi), separate shower, wc, bidet and two washbasins. The second bathroom has bath with shower over, wc, bidet and washbasins.
The modern fully fitted kitchen has a small breakfast bar looking through to the lounge. A wide range of cooking equipment is supplied. There is a utility room off the kitchen, with washer/dryer and clothes drying rack.
The large living room opens onto the patio. The sliding glass doors (with electric shutters) add to the light and spacious feel. The dining table and chairs seats six (eight possible) and there is also a large sofa, chairs and coffee table. There is a flat screen TV, DVD and sattelite connection.
There are marble floors throughout.
Further details outdoors: The large outside patio creates an ideal area for relaxing in the sun. The covered area of the patio provides an area to relax over drinks, and is furnished with sofa, armchairs and a low level table. There is also a patio heater for cooler evenings and a gas BBQ. The outside dining area seats six (eight possible).
There are several pools on the development, which is beautifully landscaped and built around the nine hole golf course. The tennis, paddle tennis, gym and spa facilities are situated around the clubhouse.
Further details
A plentiful supply of towels and linen is included. The property is cleaned ready for arrival. For stays of over a week, towels and linen are changed at the end of the week and the apartment cleaned. Midweek cleans are available at extra cost.
Conditions
There is lift access to the property from the underground garage, which would provide access for a wheelchair user. However, there are various steps around the development which might restrict some garden areas. More information can be provided on request.
