The apartment is located near one of the finest golden beaches on the Costa del Sol, and right above the prestigious Santa Maria Golf and Country Club. Only a 10 minute drive from Marbella city centre and 25 minutes from Malaga Airport.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

The Costa del Sol is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world: its miles of beautiful, sandy beaches and fantastic weather have kept tourists flocking back year after year to resorts like Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Marbella. The Costa del Sol caters to the young and old alike, offering a host of entertainment choices for both natives and visitors.

The coast boasts one of the highest concentrations of world-class golf courses, to the extent that it is often dubbed "The Costa del Golf." For families there are theme parks, including water parks, go-karting, safari parks and many beautiful public gardens. For younger visitors the main areas of attraction are Benalmadena's Puerto Marina & '24-hour square' and Marbella's Puerto Banus. Both are very trendy and chic, but be warned: the bars and clubs don't get busy until near midnight and stay open 'till dawn.

The area's history dates back to the Phoenicians and has since been inhabited by Greeks, Romans and Moors, all of whom have left their mark on the area's architecture and culture. Perhaps less well-known is the coastal culture, often in the shadow of neighbouring Seville. The Costa and the Malaga province are home to some of the finest Flamenco shows, bull fighting & tapas restaurants.

The area's infrastructure is well organized with the new Autopista del Sol providing access from Malaga to Estepona and beyond to Gibraltar. The old N-340 coastal road (now also called the A-7) is a little slower but offers some lovely sea views as it winds its way along the coast. Links between Granada, Seville and Cordoba are easily accessible for those wishing to venture further inland. The International airport has regular flights to most major cities, and is located just 10 minutes from Malaga City centre and within 30 minutes by car from most other popular resorts on the coast.

At the moment, Malaga Airport is beginning construction to double its capacity with a new runway, terminals and car parking lots. This will increase the number of low-cost flights to Malaga from all over Europe, as well as boost the economy of Costa del Sol, with new companies doing cheap car hire and economy transfers at Malaga Airport.

If you're planning to visit our beautiful region in southern Spain, either to enjoy the Malaga beaches, discover Malaga history, or visiting the small inland villages remember that public transportation is not the best at Malaga Airport. This is why we suggest you get a car rental – it's a great low-cost way for you to move around in freedom and at the same time help your holiday budget.


Marbella / Elviria area

Marbella is the choice of the rich and famous. The resort is large and stylish, with around 28 km of beaches. Set against the stunning backdrop of the "La Concha" mountain Marbella is a mixture of old and new, with stylish apartments lining the seafront while typical Andalusian houses are to be found along the picturesque alleys of Marbella's Old Town. A favourite area to visit is the beautiful Plaza de los Naranjos in the Old Quarter, meaning "Orange Plaza." It is aptly named and especially beautiful when the orange blossoms are in bloom, and is also surrounded by restaurants and cafés making it a perfect place to unwind and watch the world go by.

Marbella's main boulevard is home to many stylish boutiques and shops, while the gardens at "Parque de la Alameda" make a nice place to sit and relax. Dedicated to the artist Salvador Dali, there are copies of his sculptures along its length and leading down to the promenade. The Parque de la Constitución has its own little amphitheatre which is the venue for outdoor productions during the summer months.

Marbella's marina is neither as famous nor as glamorous as it's better known sister, Puerto Banus, but the Marina Marbella area is the place to find fresh fish, with it's live fish market providing many of the restaurants in the area with their fish. The Paseo Maritimo borders the sandy beaches and stretches from Marbella right along to Puerto Banus.

Eliviria is an established part of Marbella and only 30 minutes from Malaga airport. The area has a mixture of apartments, villas and large townhouses. Los Lagos de Santa Maria apartments are 25 mins walk to two commercial centre, where there is a good selection of fine restaurants, bars and shops including two supermarkets -one open late at night and Sundays.

There are also safari parks and waterparks nearby in Fuengirola and football coaching if you want to keep the boys happy. If you fancy some ten pin bowling in La canada shopping centre and cinema which shows some english listing each day.

The Elviria area is a golfers paradise with many fine golf courses located nearby. Apart from the magnificent 18 hole Santa Maria Golf course there is a great 9 hole par 3 course at Greenlife Golf less than 10 mins walk from Los Lagos(just up the hill from old town Elviria). This is a great little challenge for all the family with reasonable green fees and equipment rental rates. There is also a driving range, putting green and gymnasium at Greenlife. The restaurant there "A La Go" is a great spot for lunch and overlooks the first 2 holes and a small lake with its large fountain and seslection of ornamental fish.

At the Santa Maria Golf as well as fabulous 18 hole golf course, there is a pro shop, tennis courts, and two outdoor bowling rinks. Not forgetting to mention the "H19" an indoor and outdoor bar and restaurant.


How to get there

Approximately 30 minutes by car from Malaga airport.
There are plenty of Taxis right outside front door of airport and 50 Euros is a normal fare. Agree a price with them before you start your journey.

Car rental hire is very convenient just down the ramp to your left just before you exit front door just beside baggage retrieval and is very well sign posted. otherwise contact us for assistance.

Driving directions:

Take the AP7/E15 tool towards Cadiz on leaving airport (keep right for slip road on).
Leave Toll road at the calahonda exit and take the AP7/N340 coast road in the direction of Marbella.
Elviria/Santa Maria exit is well sign posted after Cabopino.
Look out for Don Carlos hotel on your left (you cannot miss it quite a tall hotel with blue lettering on it even visible at night) on seeing hotel you are only a half a mile to the turning. You will pass two campsa petrol stations opposite each other not long after Don Carlos Hotel.
