MARBELLA is famous for its glitz, promenade, beaches, shopping and entertainment including the Old Town (Cosco Antiguo) with beautiful shops, restaurants and churches with its Orange Square with eating areas surrounded by orange trees.Marbella is a combination of modern and picturesque with a wonderful atmosphere. PUERTO BANUS to see how the wealthy live this is a 'must visit'and only 15 mins away. The Marina has moorings for hundreds of boats from speed boats to large ocean-going private boats. The pomenade around the Marina is bordered by many restaurants, cafes, shops and a nice beach. OJEN VILLAGE Five minutes up the road is a very pretty 'white village' with friendly people a selection of shops, bars and restaurants including an excellent Wine Museum. Ojen is in the Sierra de Las Nieves Natural Park with many facilities including walking, biking, off road vehicle sightseeing and bird watching. GOLF There are 28 Golf Courses all within 30 minutes drive
The Marbella area
The Costa del Sol has a reported 320 days a year of sunshine the jewel of Andalucia.
GOLF - if you dont play now is the time to start with too many golf courses to mention all in fabulous condition and within very easy driving distance of the area.
Areas of interest within driving distance are Gibraltar, Granada, Seville and in the winter months you could have breakfast on the terrace in 70 degrees and within 2 hours be skiing in the Sierra Nevadas an absolutely perfect combination.
For the children there is the Spanish equivalent to Disney World called Tivoli World which is only 20 minutes drive away and a fantastic day out for the kids, also in the evening there are lots of concerts and shows to be seen. The Aqua Park is only a 15 minutes drive away as is the Fuengirola Zoo and also Selwo which is a fabulous kind of safari park, well worth a visit and Selwo Marina in Benalmadena to see dolphins etc.
Apart from the above there are many more places of beauty to visit including the lovely lakes.

This was our fourth trip to Casa Tranquila and we love it more everytime we go. Private gardens and great views, it just a piece of heaven! Everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing holiday and Dave is a wonderful host. |

Casa Tranquila is in such a lovely location as the Villa and it's outside space and pool are perfect to completely relax in, very attractive too with wonderful views. The position is perfect as only a 5 - 10 mins drive into Marbella town or in the other direction Ojen which is a lovely white village. It was difficult to move away from Casa Tranquila but following our first few days relaxing we thought we must view the area, we did several trips up into the mountains it was wonderful. We also did some walking around the area of Casa Tranquila, fantastic views all around, from one of the hills close to the Villa you can view the sea and all of Marbella plus you can see Gibralter and Morroco in the distance. Dave the owner of the property was very friendly and helpful, we loved his little dog Roxy and 2 cats also who used to come and visit us. The weather was perfect every day, lovely blue skies and hot sunshine, only 1 day in 2 weeks when it was cloudy most of the day and only rained overnight once. Perfect holiday, we felt very rested at the end of it. We would certainly reccomend Casa Tranquila and would love to go back and stay there again one day. Our thanks to Dave for everything. |

Clean, spacious and in possession of all the facilities you could really wish for - teenage daughters loved the widescreen television with access to all Freeview channels. I would love to go back, although the single track road (with passing places) is a tad daunting. La Canada shopping centre is just down the road on way into Marbella. The supermarket expects you to have your passport/photo driving licence if you wish to pay by credit card. |
