The Costa del Sol region
The Costa del Sol is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, it's miles of beautiful sandy beaches and fantastic weather which have kept tourists flocking back year after year to resorts like Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Marbella. The Costa del Sol caters for young and old alike, offering a host of entertainment choices for the native and visitor alike. The coast boasts one of the highest concentrations of world class golf courses, to the extent that it is often dubbed "The Costa del Golf". For families there are theme parks, including water parks, go-karting, safari parks and many beautiful public gardens. For younger visitors the main areas of attraction are Benalmadena's Puerto Marina & '24 hour square' and Marbella's Puerto Banus. Both are very trendy and chic, but be warned the bars and clubs don't get busy until near midnight and stay open till dawn.
The area's history dates back to the Phoenicians and has since been inhabited by Greeks, Romans and Moors, all of whom have left their mark on the areas architecture and culture. Perhaps less well known is the areas culture, often in the shadow of its neighbour Seville, The Costa and the Malaga province are home to some of the finest Flamenco shows, bull fighting & tapas restaurants
The Marbella / Puerto Cabopino area
The property is in a quiet residential neighbourhood adjoining a conservation area of dunes, eucalyptus trees and pine woods bordering a long beach. Within easy walking distance in one direction are the beach and pretty port of Cabopino with several restaurants and bars. In the other direction are several beach restaurants. Nearby are other facilities including supermarkets, chemists, golf courses and hotels. The famous Don Carlos hotel is 5 minutes by car. A very large choice of restaurants lie within driving distance as do the fashionable shops and malls of Marbella, some 10 minutes by car. For those seeking night life, plenty is available within Marbella and its surroundings. Good skiing exists (in season) in the Sierra Nevada mountains near Granada, within 2 hours drive away. Gibraltar is easily accessible. A good touring base for this interesting and historic part of Spain or for trips to North Africa.
Marbella-This thriving town rests on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It is a privileged location both geographically and for its climate. It is situated at only a thirty minute drive from Malaga International Airport and Malaga City itself. It is within easy reach of Ronda, Gibraltar and Antequera and only a two hour drive from important Spanish cities such as Granada, Cordoba, Cadiz and Seville. This Mediterranean wonder contains so many contrasts, such as mountains and sea, village and town, work and play. These contrasts make everyone feel at home. No-one is a stranger here. Luxury and austerity, business and pleasure, the modern and the old all walk hand-in –hand making Marbella an exceptional place. Open, cosmopolitan and awaiting your visit.
Marbella has hosted numerous world tennis, nautical and golfing tournaments. To some it is known as golfers paradise.
Many peoples main reason for coming to Marbella is to enjoy its wonderful beaches. From Cabopino to Guadalmina the coastline is a 26 kilometre cove made up of exquisite beaches of fine sand. The aforementioned marinas can be found along this marvellous stretch of coastline. They offer all types of watersports, or you can simply swim in the refreshing, cool blue water of the Mediterranean and get a suntan under the warmth of the golden sun, while enjoying the peaceful delights of sand and sea.
Puerto Banus attracts some of the most important recreational boats that visit Marbella. At the same time the port offers a large variety of shops, over 350 of which you will find open all year round.
At present there are over 40 golf courses within a forty minute drive and nearly two thirds of these are within fifteen minutes of Puerto Banus.

| Airport: | Malaga: 60 km |
Malaga Airport is 6km from Malaga City and 50km (30 minutes mainly down the motorway journey by car) and a very straightforward journey to Marbella. On leaving the airport the E340 towards Marbella, which will bring you to the coast road, from there we will supply easy directions to find the accommodation. .
There are frequent flights to Malaga, by scheduled and many budget airlines from all over the UK and Marbella is only 2 hours from the Sierra Nevada Europe's most southerly ski resort and a couple of hours drive to Granada.
A car will certainly enhance your visit as there is so much to see and do, and there are plenty of local companies who can organise trips to Grenada or Gibraltar which is about 2 and a half hours drive away.
If you don’t want to hire a car (we use www.marbesol.com) we can arrange a transfer from the airport (taxi charge is 70 euros for up to 4 people each way and minibus charge is 110 euros for 5 – 12 people each way. NB Unsocial hours –taxi 75 Euros, Minibus 150 Euros).

Went for a week to celebrate our anniversary and the apartment was everything we had hoped for. It was February so didn't try the pool area, however the weather was good and we were able to enjoy the large private terrace. Some pictures show plastic terrace furniture(dining) which I hate, but arrived to find a more upmarket set.Good one. Hole in the living room wall which I am sure must have been repaired by now. Would highly recommend and I am sure we will be back. |
