The Costa del Sol region
The Costa del Sol means so many things to so many different people.
For some it means the weather; guaranteed sunshine for most of the year (although it can rain.....sometimes!!)
For some it means days on the beach, sunbathing, making sand castles and swimming.
For some it means relaxation......getting away from the hum drum of work.
For some it means enjoying the Spanish hospitality, the great fresh food and enjoying sundowners at a local bar on the beach.
For some it's a chance to get away from the kitchen at home, cooking, cleaning and all those other boring chores.....
And for some.......It's all about the GOLF.
If you want to do any of these activities why not try my apartment. There are hundreds of apartments to choose from in the Costa del Sol region so why pick mine?
Well, I hope I can offer a more personal service by making the booking easy for you and hopefully answer promptly any questions or queries you might have. Also I will also answer questions honestly, which is what I would like when I'm booking something.
Finally, I think value for money is important, particularly these days with the Euro up and down like a yo yo. I would like to think that the apartment is reasonably priced.
In Elviria itself there are various shops, supermarkets, a taxi rank, hairdressers, cash machines and various bars and restaurants; too numerous to mention. In our welcome letter at the apartment I have recommended a few places which we have enjoyed visiting for lunch or dinner. Also a Bar up in Elviria Hills which has fantastic views of the coast line around Benalmadena and Fuengirola. It's worth a visit on a clear day.
If you want to go further afield you have the many bars and restaurants in Mijas, Calahonda, Fuengirola, Marbella, and, of course, trendy Puerto Banus.
In Marbella, which is only 10 km away, there is a huge shopping Mall called La Canada. It also houses a massive supermarket there called “ALCAMPO“. The exit is “OJEN/PARQUE COMERCIAL“.
I must mention golf as it's hugely popular here and there are about 36 golf courses within a 25 minute drive. The nearest, well you can see it from the balcony. It's the Santa Maria Golf and Country Club; an 18 hole challenging course, its very well known around here. The first nine holes were designed by Antonio Garcia Garrido and when these holes opened the club became very popular. The second nine, designed by the club's technical staff, opened in 1996. The course has now matured into one of the best along the coast. The Club also houses a restaurant complete with a terrace for alfresco dining; There are also bars and lounge areas plus a snooker room, not forgetting tennis courts, a swimming pool and a lawn bowls club within the grounds. To get to the entrance basically turn left out of the block onto the smaller road or go up to the main road and turn left. Keep going down for 5 minutes or so. Its sign posted and well advertised.
Other golf courses around the area are:
Cabopino Golf, Rio Real Golf, Marbella Golf, Greenlife Golf (Ideal for beginners) El Soto Golf, Santa Clara Golf, La Quinta, Las Brisas, and Los Noranjos to mention a few.

There is so much to do here and holidays do mean different things to different people, especially if you have children to entertain. If you fancy prising yourselves away from the pool or from lying on the beach consider the following:
Aqua Parks, Zoo, Theme Park, Nature Centre, Go-Karting, Jeep Safaris, Ballooning, Mountain Biking, Horse-riding, Wind Surfing, Sailing, Fishing, Tennis and the most important activities of all……Eating and Drinking!!!!

"Well appointed appartment in a peaceful location."
Very much enjoyed our 10 day stay in El Mirador. Located on the edge of village, just over a mile from the sea, the appartments and gardens are nicely established without being old. Swimming pools are dotted through the complex, though we were quite happy using the pleasant one closest to our appartment. It was a bonus to have weather to allow us to use them in mid-April! There is a garage, though in the quite months leaving a car outside was no problem. The location is best suited to use of a car.
Inside, the appartment is very tastefully and comfortably furnished....... more like a permanent home than a holiday let. Everything you could want is there. This is not camping on a one-ring stove! Two nice bedrooms, kitchen, two bathrooms and a long lounge/diner lead out to small balcony with view of the splendid dramatic hiilside golf couse nearby. The balcony is not huge, but with pools and garden areas applenty this is enough.
The nearby beach is very pleasant and clean; very good for walking and in April sparsely populated and peaceful. Summer will see an increase, but I suspect that in these days of fewer travellers the roads and beaches will be not too crammed.
