About the home

Marbella is quite simply the most exclusive resort on the Costa del Sol. However few people realise that a holiday here need cost no more than elsewhere. In addition there is easy access to the countryside and the rest of the coast. Marbella is more than a seaside resort. It is an interesting town in its own right.

The Old Town forms the very centre of Marbella. The Old Town is the former fishing village. It is now pedestrianised and full of boutiques, bars and restaurants.

In a picture postcard street in the heart of the Old Town the house, which is over 200 years old but modernised inside, has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, modern facilities and two sun terraces.

Inside the house you will find the traditional arches, tiled floors, thick walls and even a well. You will also find modern facilities such as a fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

However the main point about the accommodation is its location. Unlike other properties, this is not "near" Marbella, it is right in Marbella.

You will not need a car as you can stroll to anywhere in town you wish to go. This includes the beach, hundreds of restaurants and bars, designer boutiques, banks and all the amenities of a sophisticated modern European town.

The Costa del Sol region

An all year round location, where January and February are better than a British summer, the Costa del Sol is justly famous throughout the world.

Marbella, being tucked under the mountain of La Concha, has its own microclimate and is the pearl of the Costa. Forget lager louts and high rise hotels - you will not find any.

The Mayor has forbidden package tours to this classy and elegant town. Instead you will find the safest town in Europe with an indefinable laid back elegance.

The Marbella / Marbella Town area

Marbella is a world class resort, known for the beaches, the night life, the visiting film stars, the excellent restaurants and the bars.

However unlike other resorts which close in the off season, Marbella is a proper town in its own right. Full of life all year, it contains museums, ancient buildings and other sights to see, not to mention the delights of wandering around the colourful streets.

There are day trips available to Tangiers, Granada and other places.

“House in Old Town” The rooms in the house were smaller than we were expecting. The kitchen was miniscule, as were 2 of the bedrooms. The middle bedroom had neither door nor a window, and neither did the kitchen. As it was high summer it meant that the house wasstiflingly hot even with windows and doors open. The house smelled of damp and drains, especially in the bathrooms. The roof terrace was quirky but very overlooked so the beach is probably the better option, although it takes a good 10 minutes to reach. If you like wildlife look out for lizards and cockroaches! The hous is located well for exploring the old town but we did find it very difficult to sleep as the streets nearby were very noisy at night. Response: We believe that the photos of our house, the fact that we originally bought and furnished it for ourselves, not for letting, the positive emails and recommendations we constantly receive, the fact that we barely need to advertise and the fact that large sections of next year have already been booked by happy returning customers speaks for itself. For some reason whoever wrote this review does not appear to know the layout of the house and our records show that we have never let to anybody by this name.
