The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The Costa del Sol is often referred to as the Costa del Golf, its not surprising with a concentrations of top quality golf courses, nearing the 40's and fabulous weather almost all year round, it's an idyllic setting. Popular with European golfers for many years the area has become better known farther afield due to the 1997 Ryder Cup held at Valdarama. The demand is so great that many new courses are being developed and in the more popular courses rounds, need to be booked months in advance. Golf is far more popular with visiting tourists than the Spanish. A recent study estimated that a staggering 80% of golfing tourists had visited the Costa to play. Many golf courses have club tournaments running throughout the year, so phone to check first and booking in advance is advised. Golf has played a great part in turning the Costa del Sol from a summer holiday destination to a year round resort, with many northern Europeans escaping bleak winters to come to the Costa's mild winter
Marbella's main boulevard is home to many stylish boutiques and shops, while the gardens at 'Parque de la Alameda' make a nice place to sit and relax, dedicated to the artist Salvador Dali, there are copies of his sculptures along it's length and leading down to the promenade. Sierra Nevada resort has skiing at an altitude of over 10,000 feet and brilliant sunshine most of the winter. When storms arrive, life at the top of this treeless mountain stops and visitors either drop down to Granada or curl up with a good book. With good weather the views are spectacular — almost unbelievable. From the top of the Veleta peak, skiers can see across the Mediterranean to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The resort town itself, basically a sparse cluster of hotels and apartments at the base of the first series of lifts, is modern with a hint of traditional charm. It is purpose-built. It is here only for skiing and has been well located for that pursuit. It is not a traditionally Spanish enclave, nor does it appear in any sense Alpine; however, if you want to find snow in southern Spain, this is the place to be. When it does snow, it comes down light and dry because of the low humidity in Southern Spain
Marbella / El Rosario area
Villa Carola is very well located to take full advantage of everything the cosmopolitan area of Marbella has to offer. El Rosario is very central to attractions on the costa del sol. El Rosario itself has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants and a great tennis club. The lovely sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are a few minutes away by car and here there is an excellent chiringuito (beach bars.) Marbella town is a short drive down the road, Malaga airport around 20/30 minutes, there is an excellent selection of first class golf courses nearby. FUNNY BEACH is a few minutes away it has JET SKI'S, GO CARTS,BUMPER BOATS, etc Nikki Beach 5 min away several water parks one with the highest water chute's in Spain selwo marina (has dophin and seal displays with other wild life shows etc) selwo adventure There are many markets every day along the coastal towns in the costa del sol
Marbella is the choice of the rich and famous. The resort is large and stylish, with around 28km of beaches. Set against the stunning backdrop of the 'La Concha' mountain Marbella is a mixture of old and new, with stylish apartments lining the seafront while typical Andalusian houses are to be found along the picturesque alleys of Marbella's Old Town. A favourite area to visit is the beautiful Plaza de los Naranjos in the Old Quarter, meaning 'Orange Plaza' it is aptly named and especially beautiful when the orange blossoms are in bloom, it's also surrounded by restaurants and cafés making it a perfect place to unwind and watch the world go by.
A short drive is PUERTO BANUS, the ultimate in coastal charisma it would be hard to beat Puerto Banus, just west of the town. This is the place to be pampered yachtside and watch the world go by or window shop at one of several of the world renowned fashion houses and boutiques. The port has grown considerably over the years and now includes a casino, commercial shopping centre, El Corte Ingles department store, marine observatory and a multi cinema with films shown in their original soundtrack. The nightlife is buzzing here with alfresco bars, piano clubs and discos which are open dusk until dawn.

3) Apartments are available from approx 1.30pm (or earlier depending on cleaners)
