Spacious, luxury second-floor apartment situated in the Coronado Building in Marbesa, one of the most exclusive areas on the Costa del Sol, between Elviria and Cabopino.

The Coronado complex is equipped with all the latest facilities, ensuring that your holiday is comfortable and secure. There are two impressive communal pools surrounded by subtropical green areas, with a sunbathing area and restaurant. There is a pool attendant in July and August. The building has a staffed reception, 24-hour security, and control-keyed elevators and staircases.

The apartment has two large balconies facing towards the sea, overlooking peaceful tropical gardens. The long sandy beach is only 300 metres (three minutes' walk). The beach has several small restaurants, all of which serve delicious local specialties. There is a supermarket across the road from the entrance, selling freshly baked bread, and a good range of fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, and meat.

The living room features two sofas and flat-screen TV with HDMI port (for connection to computer), satellite receiver, DVD player, and a range of DVDs. There is a dining table with four chairs and a dresser with tableware and cutlery, The living room opens onto a large balcony with a dining table and four chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a ceramic hob, extractor, oven/grill, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, juicer, toaster, blender, and a wide range of cookware.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the apartment.

The property offers free parking at ground level and is accessible for people with restricted mobility.

Guests can use the gym and tennis courts at the nearby Don Carlos Hotel for a weekly membership fee.

The Marbesa area is famous for its tranquility and for its picturesque green areas with pine trees and oak trees, but at the same time very well connected. There is a regular daily bus to Marbella centre and to Fuengirola, from where you can get a train directly to Málaga Airport or city centre. You can also enjoy the quaint port of Cabopino, where you will find many restaurants and bars.

This residential area is only ten kilometres from Marbella´s Old Town, a perfect area to can dine in the finest restaurants and shop in the most original local shops.

BEDROOM: Super-king-size bed (180 cm wide), with reading lights on each side. The bed base can be separated for use as two single beds. Large wardrobes with plenty of storage for your clothes and shoes. Steam iron, ironing board, and clothes airer . Chest of drawers. Dressing table with good hairdryer. Full-length mirror. Variable-speed ceiling fan. Electronic blinds. Double doors leading to balcony with two sun loungers. View of gardens and sea.

BATHROOM: Shower, handbasin, WC, and washing machine. Extractor fan, heater, and exterior window.

Portable sun loungers are provided in the apartment for use at the pool and on the beach.

GARDEN: Large tropical garden and park, a designated green zone, that leads to the sea.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY: The water is heated by solar energy (and the Costa del Sol has plenty of sunshine year round, so there is no shortage of energy). There are recycling facilities for garbage. The building is located in a designated green zone.

SUPERMARKET: Well-stocked supermarket opposite the Coronado building, serving a wide range of fresh meat, fish, fruit, and vegetables. Freshly baked bread every day. Open every day 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

RESTAURANTS AND BARS: La Sirena is on the ground floor of the Coronado building, facing onto the pool; lunch and dinner served daily. Sunpoint Bar and Restaurant, opposite Coronado serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner at reasonable prices; barbecue on summer evenings.

GYM: The Don Carlos hotel, a 15-minute walk along the beach, has a gym, sauna, tennis courts, and spa. Guests at Coronado can avail of short-term membership of the Don Carlos gym and tennis club.

GOLF: The nearest golf clubs are Santa Maria Golf in Elviria and Cabopino Golf.

PARKING: Available on the grounds of the building; there is no charge for parking.

BUS: Bus stop on A7, three minutes' walk. Regular daily bus service to Marbella city centre and Fuengirola.

ARRIVAL: Keys can be collected from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at a nearby location.

DEPARTURE: You may need to vacate the apartment by 11:00 a.m. to allow the cleaners to prepare for the next guests. Late checkout may be possible by prior arrangement.

CAR HIRE: You don't need a car, as you can walk to the beach, restaurants and shops, and there is a regular bus service to Marbella centre, from where you can get buses to other cities in Andalucia. If you decide to hire a car during your stay, a local company will deliver the car to the Coronado building, and collect it when you finish. There is a petrol station nearby on the A7, where you can refill the tank before returning the car.

EXCURSIONS: You can book excursions to the cities of Andalucía, such as Sevilla, Granada, and Córdoba through a local agency in Marbesa.

The Coronado Building is on the Costa del Sol in Andalucía, the most southern region in Spain. RELAXING HOLIDAY: You can really unwind here, sunbathing, strolling on miles of sandy beach, and having breakfast, lunch, and dinner al fresco, either on the living room balcony or at one of the many lovely restaurants (chirringuitos) along the beach, just a three-minute walk from your apartment.

SPORT AND ACTIVITIES: The Costa del Sol is renowned for its great golf courses. There is a wide range of other sports including tennis at the Don Carlos Sports Club, hillwalking in the Sierra de las Nieves, and watersports at Marbella, Puerto Banus, and Cabopino.

SIGHTSEENG AND CULTURE: The town of Marbella with its charming fishing quarter, long seafront promenade, and the old town's winding streets, is ten kilometres from Coronado. Explore the white villages of Andalucía, such as Ronda and Mijas, or visit the iconic cities of Granada, Seville, Cordoba, and Jerez, passing through a landscape of rolling hills dotted with olive groves. To the south, you can visit Algeciras or Tarifa, from where you can make a boat trip to Morocco. Marbella bus station has a reasonably priced service to all these destinations, and many more. Alternatively, you can book guided day-trips by coach through a local tour organiser.

Marbella, Malaga

Coronado is in the Marbella municipality, which stretches about 30 kilometres along the coast, from Cabopino in the east to San Pedro de Alcantará in the west.

MARBELLA TOWN: Coronado is situated 10 kilometres (6 miles) to the east of Marbella town. An Andalusian port at the foot of the Sierra Blanca, Marbella displays traces of its past in its palatial town hall, medieval ruins, and ancient Moorish walls. Marbella town retains its authentic Spanish atmosphere and charm, with a pretty promenade along the seafront, and a charming Old Town with its flower-filled balconies and whitewashed houses. The Patio de los Naranjos (Court of the Orange Trees) is the central point for wandering the cobblestone streets of the Old Town. Here you can enjoy the fountains and cafes with sidewalk tables where you can sit back and watch the world go by.

PUERTO BANUS: One of the largest entertainment centres in the Costa del Sol, with 5 million annual visitors, Puerto Banus is popular with international celebrities. Built around a coastal village in the Mediterranean architectural style, Puerto Banús contains expensive shopping malls, restaurants and bars around the marina. It is also scene to many exotic cars and large yachts that are owned by international celebrities. Cars like Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Mercedes are a common sight in the summer months around Marbella. Puerto Banus about 6 km (3.5 miles) from to the west of Marbella centre. You can take a boat trip from Marbella harbour to Puerto Banus.

THE AREA AROUND CORONADO

BEACH: Playa de las Chapas is 300 metres from Coronado, about three minutes' walk. It is one of Marbella's best beaches, with several miles of golden sand, and no high-rise buildings. It is safe for swimming, and lovely for a morning or evening walk or run at any time of year.

RESTAURANTS: The beach has several restaurants serving good local seafood. The Elviria Commercial Centre is a 20-minute walk, and it has a variety of bars and restaurants.

NIGHTLIFE: The famous Nikki Beach Club, open from May to September, is ten minutes' walk along the beach, at the Don Carlos Hotel: you can have lunch, dinner, or drinks, and spot the visiting celebrities.

The bar in the Don Carlos Hotel has live music some nights; check at reception for details.

Elviria Commercial Centre has several bars and restaurants open all year round, and open till late in summer.

Marbella town has some great authentic Spanish tapas bars, and plenty of activity all year round, especially around the harbour area.

SHOPPING: There is a supermarket across the road from Coronado. The Elviria Commercial Centre is a 20-minute walk. It has a wide range of bars, restaurants and shops catering for all tastes. Marbella town has a great range of shops: clothes, shoes, jewelry, and handcrafts.

GOLF: Cabopino, Santa Maria, and Santa Clara Golf are all within a 10-minute drive of Coronado.

SAILING: Puerto Cabopino, a beautiful small harbour, often referred to as one of the best-kept secrets of the Costa del Sol, is a 20-minute walk along the beach. It has some lovely restaurants overlooking the sea.

TENNIS: The tennis club at the Don Carlos Hotel offers daily, weekly, and monthly membership, and tennis coaching for all levels.

GYM: You can use the gym and tennis courts at the Don Carlos Hotel (about 15 minutes' walk) for a daily or weekly rate.

We have noted your comment/recommendation about lack of oven. We previously had a combination oven-grill-microwave, but found the oven function didn't work very well, especially for pizzas, so we installed a new microwave this ear. For next year, we will install a small worktop oven. We look forward to welcoming you again.

"All the comforts of home, but in the sun"

The apartment was reasonably priced and had everything I wanted with all the comforts I enjoy at home. Very friendly welcome. Plenty of local amenities with restaurants open all year round. It was nice to experience the summer in early March.
