Small whitewashed villages such as Benahavis (known for its many popular restaurants) is only 15 minutes drive from Marbella, Rhonda and Mijas are also worth a visit and close by.
If you're into sport, then there's no better place. The Costa del Golf as the region is referred to boasts some in excess of 30 golf courses in the area all within easy reach of Marbella. If you prefer water sports then look no further with miles of beaches there are plently of watersports activities to be found along the coast. a beach that stretches for miles with all kinds of water sports, then it might be just the place for you. For those of you who prefer to be out on the open road then why not hire a motorbike and visit some of the local historic villages.
Along with its many restaurants and bars in Orange Square - Dominating the square is the most important building in the town, The Church of Saint Mary whose construction began in 1618. The main facade of the building is adorned with a beautiful red stone entrance worked in Baroque style while the interior consists of three sections which underwent restoration after the 1936 Civil War. The Church is open and worth a visit.
Most of the buildings in the Orange Square or Plaza de los Naranjos were built between 1485 and 1568.
The sand stone Orange Square Fountain was erected in 1504 and commissioned by the first Mayor of Christian Marbella.

"Good location, shame about dust and lack of hot water!"
I stayed here with my husband and another couple for a week. Location was very convenient to restaurants etc. we made a complaint to Janet via e-mail (as we could not contact her via phone) about the lack of hot and asked where the water heater was positioned. We were told the hot water heater was for emergency use only and that we should have enough hot water with the solar panels. There was one day in particular we had no hot water for the whole day. Our friends bed collapsed near the end of the week due to two legs missing in the middle of the bed. This was also reported and we were told to,lie on the bed settee in the living room. No one came to see us about this problem. We paid €100 euros on arrival for breakages and only received €40 euros back as we were charged €60 for replacing two legs on the bed even though the bed was not fit for purpose in the first place. I wrote to Janet and said due to the fact the bed was unfit for purpose and we had very little hot water, I felt we should have received some compensation and NOT to be charged for fixing a sub-standard bed. Janet said the owner had made this decision and she was NOT the owner. The owner sent me an e-mail promising a refund of our original €60 and to date I am still awaiting this refund. The flat is spacious but needs a good general dustin and although there is a roof top terrace it was unfit for use due to the amount of birds flying continually overhead.

"Excellent Place to Stay"
In the past I have booked the downstairs apartment which I love and have been at least 4 times. This is the first time I have booked the upstairs apartment as it was never available in the past. It is excellent as it offers the benefit of a roof terrace and I am a bit of a sun worshiper. Just could not be better located for Orange Square or the strip. I strongly recommend this apartment we had a super time.

"Stylish apartment in great location"
As we had never visited Marbella previously, we were not sure where to say. Having read reviews we decided on this apartment which was a fantastic decision. Great location in the old town and only a few minutes to the beach and promenade, with a reasonably sized supermarket around the corner. The apartment is a good size and is very well appointed. The pictures do not do it justice. The roof terrace is fantastic however can be hot in the midday sun. A barbeque is provided which is great to use on a chill out evening If you want to stay in Marbella you need to stay here!!

Top quality location which is well hidden but also bang in the middle of everything. 1 minute walk from Orange Square, 1 to 5 minutes from shops and 4 minutes from the beach and promenade. The place is like a tardis! When you walk into the apartment it's beautifully decorated, modern kitchen and has an amazing rooftop for sunbathing and bbqs if you can be bothered to do one. Definitely recommend it.

"Perfect holiday destination and apartment"
We have holidayed here for the last three years and can honestly say we have had a thoroughly great time. The weather has been fine, and when we have needed to use the air conditioning it was very comfortable. The apartment is spacious; everything is supplied so you can do all your cooking if you feel like that, and you can have a barbeque on the roof top terrace when you have the urge, but if you don’t the Orange Square is just around the corner where you are spoilt for choice. All the restaurants we tried were excellent. There are loads of shops around, but my wife’s favourite is Bijou Brigitte which specialises in necklaces, earrings etc. I have to say it was bliss not to use a car. The beach is a short walk away – well recommended From Jim, Stratford upon Avon

"Luxury apartment in stunning surroundings"
We were lucky to find this beautiful apartment in the heart of Marbella's historic quarter. I can only describe the apartment as a home away from home, containing all of the fittings befitting of a luxury apartment. The apartment is within a stones throw of local shops and restaurants, as well as Marbella's famous Costa. With a beautiful 'Plaza' around the corner, housing one of Marbella's oldest churches, it is an ideal place to spend any relaxing holiday. I can't wait to get back...

"Beautiful apartment and location."
We stayed in this apartment for six days after reading the reviews. It did not disappoint, in any way. It is a beautiful apartment with stylish decor and an excellent location. The roof terrace is an added bonus for sun lovers. Every need was catered for by a very friendly and helpful Janet and we thank her.
