TREVENNER FARM HOUSE
This lovely family home is a former farmhouse built in the 16th century and is steeped in the history of the magical seaside town of Marazion. The farmhouse once served the monks who lived in the monastery on St Michaels Mount, and it remained part of the St. Aubyn Estate until recently. The building is closely linked to the history of the Mount and has stone corbels brought from the monastery set in the front façade, as documented in its Grade 2 listing.
Inside, it has been tastefully renovated, and is roomy enough for all the family and friends. The large kitchen and open plan dining room has space to cook, to chat, to eat and to relax together. Traditionally decorated it still offers the comforts of contemporary modern living with (quiet) dishwasher, washer dryer, oven, microwave and induction hobs.
The peaceful lounge has room for everyone to relax after a day on the beach, with pretty window seats overlooking the garden for the summer months, or you can snuggle up around the log burning stove during the winter nights. The four bedrooms upstairs and two bathrooms allow plenty of space for guests to feel a sense of peace and comfort. The thick granite walls provide a calm haven, a retreat from every day lives. Yet for families there is a children's play area nearby, many local activities such as wind and kite surfing, swimming and sailing, safe beaches and wonderful places for adults to walk. You will be three minutes from the Cornish Coastal Path – turn left for the Lizard and right for Lamorna Cove and Lands End. In morning you can simply walk to the village to pick up some fresh bread and Sunday papers and soak up the atmosphere over a coffee in the local deli or teashops. There is a great local pub within 3 minutes walk, which serves good food. If you like music pop in on a Monday for thier accoustic jam night.
To the side of Trevenner Farm House runs a little-known pathway through the houses and down to the beach in about 10 minutes along the Cornish Coastal Path.
The more active can walk into Marazion Village along the beach, visit the deli, shop, pub or cross over to the Mount on the Causeway and back up the road if you want, with a famous Philp's pasty or cream tea in hand.
From the village, buses go regularly into Penzance and hence the rest of Cornwall, or to Helston and on to Falmouth in the other direction.
Trevenner Farmhouse, previously known as Angels Rest and used for spiritual and Raw Food retreats, is in a child-friendly location and ideally located for beach holidays, and bird watching (twitching) at the Marazion Marsh conservation area.
Its a great base for surfing holidays in Cornwall with Sennen Cove not far away and some surf breaks on the Cornish South Coast too. We are close to the Cornish Coastal Path between Perranuthnoe and Penzance - excellent for a group walking or running holiday. The Classic Quarter Endurance race is run along here in June, starting from Lizard Point to Lands End - a total of 44 miles.
Why not come for the sailing week in June, the Helston Floral Day (The Furry Dance) in May, or Penzance Festival Day in June.
For your protection and peace of mind, we now process Credit Card bookings.

Although you could push them together there would still be a crack and I am afraid we dont supply double sheets/duvets for that scenario. There is a bathroom/ toilet upstairs and a shower room/toilet downstairs - sadly no ensuites! For the peak weeks, changeover day is Friday (out at 10am in by 4pm)Out of season, short breaks and late deals are available at a reduced rate. Please enquire for details.
|Further details outdoors|
We have a small gravelled outdoor eating area with table and bench, and most important for Marazion, 1-2 parking spaces and a garage that surfers love to store their sports equipment and wet suits. Its just a great place to be, to kick back, relax, minutes from the beach from heaven! There is also some on street parking nearby. The front garden is lawned and secure and there is a kids play area just up the road.
Please contact us with any special requirements, restricted mobility etc. We have to say we are "not suitable" - but everyone has different needs and you may be fine with us. We can talk you through the tricky points and see what you think. the general area is fairly flat, but we have some two steps right on a corner just inside the front door, which are tricky for wheelchairs. Otherwise the G/F is level and. the stairs are quite wide. The shower is downstairs, upstairs is a bath and toilet. All sleeping accomodation is upstairs. Hope this helps but please contact us with queries.
The Cornwall region
West Cornwall is a magical place full of legend, sacred sites and miles of unspoilt beaches. Once a separate country, the Duchy is great for walking the clifftops buffeted by healthy Atlantic winds or exploring hidden coves.
With picturesque fishing villages adorning its shore, Cornwall is one of the best places to experience a different pace of life within the UK.
There are many great surfing beaches with surfboard and wetsuit hire by the day or week in Cornwall
The seaside town of Marazion is one of the oldest towns in great Britain, home to the castle in the sea, St Michaels Mount, set on a fairytale island – a focal point for the whole of Mounts Bay. Marazion has award winning and breath taking beaches, catering for couples and families. An ideal location for West Cornwall, near to lively Penzance and St Ives.
Trevenner or Trevennar Farm House became called Angels Rest because everyone who visited felt they slept like an angel in the house, and spiritually revived by the sense of peace here. St Michaels Mount has many reported sightings of Arc Angel Michael and is the birth place of King Arthur (or so legend says).
Its an easy walk from the village to Marazion Marsh wetlands which are famed for birdwatching so its a great base for a birdwatching break. (See the links page on our website to find out more) Many rare birds can be seen here including Bittern, Spotted Crake and Chiffchaffs.
The picturesque Marazion Beach is well used for Kite Surfing and by windsurfers and Power Kites. There is a kite surfing school in Marazion if you feel tempted to have a go. The conditions here are reputed to be excellent.
From Penzance , The Scillonian ferry will take you to the Scilly Isles. Sadly the heliport has now closed, but you can still fly from Lands End or Newquay airports.

"Excellent accommodation for a holiday, would highly recommend Trevenner Farm."
Excellent accommodation for our group of 7. My family with 3 young children as well as grandparents. Plenty of space for 7-8 people and definitely did not feel we were on top of one another. Booking was a breeze and the owner was very helpful, courteous and polite. The directions to the cottage and key access were clearly and easily explained. I particularly liked the PDF file that I received which also explained how to work the appliances. Travelling from California we wanted an old English cottage coupled with modern appliances and we were not disappointed. The kitchen was large with plenty of room to cook and sit down and eat as well. The beds were very comfortable and contributed to some very relaxing sleep. We arrived to cream teas and a very clean cottage. Wi-Fi connection for me is very important (sadly need to keep in touch with work even on holiday!) and the connection was great and fast. We had a week of glorious sunshine, so we didn't use the wood fire in the living room. However, wood was provided and I imagine this would make the cottage very cosy in the colder months. In short, a fantastic holiday in a lovely cottage with a nice local pub just round the corner.
I am glad it all worked out for you - it was exciting to have our first guests from the USA. Thanks for taking the time to write the review - I hope the rest of your stay in the UK was good too. Come again any time you like:>) Warwick

"A wonderful house and location"
This is a beautiful house, wonderfully decorated. The living spaces are wonderful, an amazing farmhouse kitchen diner, and a massive living room. We spent most evenings in the lounge chatting an playing games. The house was great for us with our 3 children, but would easily have been big enough for 8. The walk to the beach and St Michaels Mount was straight forward enough even for our littlest ( aged 7 1/2), and we usually ended up there twice a day! It was a real benefit to be able to park, and then leave the car, there was plenty to do within walking distance ( although we were lucky with the weather). Before the holiday contact with the owner was always promptly and efficiently answered. All in all a fabulous week
Thank you for your glowing review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to have you again sometime. Best regards Warwick and Jenni

"Spacious, airy, beautiful, fresh, relaxing and close to the sea!"
This is our second visit, the first under new management and we enjoyed it even more this time around. The timely and easy contact with the owners resulted in high confidence and low stress when making the booking and for the actual holiday itself. Trevenner Farm House is beautifully located and although set back from the sea, only a short walk away. Ideal for large families(or 2smaller families) to spend time together without being ontop of one another. A large kitchen/diner allowing for meals to be taken together and a huge, comfortable living room for relaxing in when you are not out and about. Beautiful bedrooms and the all important 2 bathrooms! You are sure to enjoy your stay.
Thank you so much for your review - we are so glad you had a good time and still enjoyed the character of Trevenner, and all the things to do locally. Do come again sometime :>) Warwick and Jenni
