The Cornwall region
The area is well known for its outstanding beauty from the dramatic coastline to the glorious sandy beaches and secluded coves, to the moorland, or wooded valleys and enchanting creeks of the Helford River.
The warm climate is partly due to the warm waters of the Gulf Stream consequently there are palm trees and exotic looking plants and glorious sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters. There are an abundance of beaches some stretching for miles others tucked away all with a beauty and character of their own.
Falmouth, Penzance, St Ives and the Cathedral city of Truo are all within easy reach. As are the many National Trust properties and beautiful gardens such as Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trebah and Trelissick to name just a few.
The Isles of Scilly are only a 20 minute helicopter ride away so a day trip is easily manageable, or you could travel by plane or ferry.
Trescowe is a tranquil hamlet tucked away from it all, yet close to all amenities. Just down the road, 5 minutes away is the glorious mile long sandy beach of Praa Sands with cafes and a pub overlooking the beach. Also in Praa Sands is the haunted Pengersick Castle which hold organised ghost hunting tours!
Godolphin House is an ancient and atmospheric house and gardens set within an historic estate. There are many walks across the estate including one that leads you to the top of Godolphin Hill where you are able to see both coasts (this is one of my favourites as I just put on my boots and go.) You feel 'ontop of the world'.
Mounts Bay sweeps around from The Lizard to Lands End, with many beautiful beaches to chose from. Within 15 minutes drive you may visit Penzance beach, Long Rock beach, Marazion beach, Perranuthnoe beach and Praa Sands you are spoilt for choice!
Cornwall's 'Jewel in the Crown,' St Michaels Mount, sits majestically overlooking Marazion, and can be visited either by foot across the causeway or little boats will ferry you if the tide is in either way it's a magical trip to make and see if you can find the giants heart! Marazion is a thriving little town with an array of galleries, cafes, pubs, restaurants and local shops.

"Friendley welcome where nothing was too much trouble."
From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel like we were long lost friends. The cream tea which was waiting for us was wonderful and very welcomed after a long journey. We had a few problems with various parts of the house but credit where credit is due, these were sorted out immediately without question...well done! We particularly loved the kitchen which the owners had recently stripped back to reveal the original stone wall, fabulous! The house was immaculate and decorated very tastefully, a real home from home. It's location is central to this part of Cornwall, and is ideal for exploring a vast area. Without doubt, we shall return to explore so many places we didn't get round to this time.

"We keep coming back!"
We have been to the cottage 3 times and plan to return in 2013! The cottage is very cosy, comfortable and well equipped, nothing is missing. The location is peaceful and within easy access to both South and North Cornwall. However, what makes the Cottage special for us, are the little touches. This year, Mandy and Keith provided a cream tea for us and Easter eggs for the children and even found some age appropriate toys for our 1 year old son. Much appreciated!
