Southern Italy region

Basilicata is a very beautiful region with very honest and kindly people, full of historical and cultural places such as Matera, Melphi and Maratea.

Basilicata is the unknown treasure of southern Italy. In this one spot it comes down to the sea on wild and beautiful Costa di Maratea.

Basilicata and Maratea has all the beaches in 1°categories rating of ecological and environmental sea.( Blu FLag by Italia Nostra and FAI).

Some interesting links:

Please, after reading, take a look to

Maratea is very similar to Amalfi (Campania) but very less expensive, dirty and caotic. People is very quite, honest and opened-mind with tourist.

In Maratea there are:

- Several kinds of beaches (sand, little rock)

- Big Turistic port

- 99 little/medium/big churches to visit

- The wonderful BIG REDENTORE "SAN BIAGIO" (similar one of CORCOVADO in Rio de Janeiro)

- Lots of historical sites.

- Several wonderful sand/rock beaches and clean sea.

- Lots of restaurant, shops, cakes maker and Bar.

I was born and i live in Milan and i always spend my holidays there. It's my grandad home and town so i feel my blood coming out from here that's why I suggest the place to everybody.

I suggest staying during half season (sept/end october).... there's an amazing and very good climate and hot watersea :-) and the first part of Summer (late April/may/june) last but not least Easter and Christmas naturally!!!

"Panoramic views with privacy"

This compact ground floor apartment was very convenient for us as a couple. Despite the fact there are no windows other than the front door and a small front window, the decoration gives a bright, clean appearance. We enjoyed the terrace equipped with outdoor furniture, and shade, which afforded a magnificent west-facing view of the sea and over the town. The walk down a very steep hill took us straight into the main piazza and old town. The neighbourhood was quiet and all in all a delightful place.

Many thanks and I agree about it; anyway i remark that, being a very ancient house built on the hill side, have his characteristics never the less the window and door window measures are rispectively 70 x 70 cm and 120x190 cm.
