The apartment La Loma Calle is simply exceptional. It has been designed by the prestigious architect Melvin Villarroel and it is based on his concept of “architecture of the vacío” where architecture and nature meet in a “comprehensive design” converging with a great garden area with exuberant vegetation in which the community swimming pool takes pride of place.
La Loma Calle is situated on a gentle rise of ground and has an excellent view over the lake: the terrace is very large and private, overlooking the bunkers of the 15th hole, giving an impression of a beach along the lake.
La Loma Calle is a spacious ground floor apartment on the newest phase of the fantastic Mar Menor Golf Resort. Benefiting from air-conditioning and heating throughout, La Loma Calle is furnished to a high standard, with an open-plan living area and kitchen, together with three bedrooms, with the master bedroom having the added advantage of an ensuite bathroom.
Large patio windows from the lounge and master bedroom lead to a large terrace, with a six seater outdoor sofa, a dining table and sun loungers, which makes a great place for relaxing in the sun or dining alfresco.
Within a few short steps, you will find the delightful, large communal pool, which is a great place to splash around and cool off, or meet other people. The resort facilities can be found within a short walk from Lorena's situation on 'Espliego' road, and close to here is the El Boulevard complex with several great bars and restaurants.
The apartment has 3 bedrooms
Bedroom 1 - master suite with King Size Bed, Double fitted wardrobes, En-suite with his and hers sinks
Bedroom 2 - double room with fitted wardrobes and private open terrace with amazing views
Bedroom 3 - twin room with fitted wardrobes and private walled terrace, PS3 and Flaf Screen TV
Lounge - Large room with patio doors to the large terrace, 46" plama TV and full international TV with over 400 channels including BBC, ITV, ITV2, E4 etc and Cbeebies for the kids. We also have a Blueray player with lots of family DVDs.
The Property comes pre-set up with dedicated Wireless connection which even reaches to the pool area for anyone wanting internet.
Child Table and chairs
Bikes available on request for a small charge. Two adults / teenagers, one 10-12 year old.
It is located in the centre of the resort, just 3 mins from the driving range and 5 mins from the Clubhouse, Hotel & Spa, Shops and Bars. The Murcia region
Literally translated as 'warm coast', this relatively undiscovered area of Spain has the mildest climate in the country and offers visitors the chance to discover the real Spain. With two seas to choose from, the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor, the coastline offers impressive cliffs, wonderful beaches, lively harbours and secluded coves. Huge plains, dramatic mountain ranges and national parks with lush forests are what define the interior landscape giving visitors the chance to relax and enjoy nature or participate in the many activities on offer.
Fun packed days in Costa Calida
The Murcian region is a sport and nature lovers' paradise. Play golf on one of the many courses, learn to sail, do a spot of fishing, take a mud bath and enjoy a tranquil swim in an unspoiled cove. The regional parks are a paradise for climbing, hiking, mountain biking and horse riding, while beach and sun-seekers may prefer the warm waters of the Mar Menor lagoon, the largest natural pool in the world.
On the beach in Costa Calida
With 240 miles of coastline and over 315 days of sunshine each year, the Murcian coast is a beach lovers dream. Costa Calida gives visitors the choice of bathing in either of two seas. On one side, the warm peaceful waters of the Mar Menor with beaches like Cala del Pino (Pinetree Cove) ideal for families as the water is calm and shallow. On the other side, just a few metres away, are the waters of the Mediterranean, with beaches like Punta del Estacio. The beautiful Calblanque national park is highly recommended for those who want unspoilt areas. Here the beaches stretch for miles with lovely soft sand, crystal clear waters and a stunning mountain backdrop. Further down, the coastline of Aguilas boasts up to 35 coves. Areas such as Cala Reona, Calabardina, Playa del Arroz are but a few places where the unspoilt landscape is still the main characteristic.
Hints of history in Costa Calida
Costa Calida is steeped in history and offers a real insight into Spanish culture, with fantastic examples of Baroque architecture such as the Casino and Romea theatre.
There are a number of beautiful cities that epitomise the history of Costa Calida. In Murcia you will find the 600 year old Santa Maria Cathedral, the highest in Spain. Lorca is tucked away in one of the most picturesque and majestic corners of Spain and has a stunning castle.
Caraveca de la Cruz is one of the five holy cities in the world and home to the Vera Cruz cross, a shrine for the Lignum Crucis, wood from the cross on which Christ was crucified, and many pilgrims travel from across the world to visit this spot. There is a variety of culture for everyone to enjoy in Costa Calida.
Local cuisine in Costa Calida
The lovely fishing village of Cabo de Palos is the perfect place for a long, relaxing lunch or dinner. The pretty harbour front looks out to sea and is lined with traditional restaurants. Choose the 'catch of the day' (the garlic king prawns are delicious!) then sit back in the sun and watch the world go by. The Sunday market is also worth a visit, here you can buy anything from fish and fruit to pottery and leather. Many dishes are influenced by the local ingredients available. Pigs are bred in Lorca so understandably delicious pork dishes and sausages like chorizo are on the menu. Of course no trip to Spain is complete without sampling delicious tapas or paella which is available in nearly all towns and villages. If you fancy cooking for yourself, visit one of the local markets to get the freshest produce.
Mar Menor Golf Resort
Mar Menor Golf Resort is set within a beautiful position in the Murcian countryside, framed by a stunning mountain backdrop. The resort offers a fantastic Jack Nicklaus designed 18 hole golf course, as well as paddle tennis facilities and an Intercontinental Hotel, which houses a luxurious spa and gym.
If you're looking for a family holiday, Mar Menor is also a great choice, with a kids' playground available and the El Boulevard complex, which houses some great new restaurants. The resort is a superb base for exploring the surrounding area, with the popular town of Los Alcázares with its beach and variety of restaurants and bars close by, as well as the bustling city of Murcia, which is only a 35 minute drive away.
Alternatively, enjoy the miles of sandy beaches and shallow waters of the Mar Menor lagoon.

"Wish I could of stayed longer!!"
The apartment came highly recommended but I have to say it exceeded my expectations, in terms of position on the resort I couldn't fault it. We didn't have a car during our stay and it wasn't missed, taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced and the main resort hotel and spar shop are within walking distance. The main attraction for me was its locality to the airport and for 20euros you can be at the apartment within 30 mins of landing (with hand luggage). But still far enough away for you to forget it was even there. The apartment is very well appointed with some lovely art work, the small touches meant it felt homely rather than like a holiday apartment as such. IT was clean and in excellent condition, its clear the owners take great pride in their property. The communal pool was lovely and included a smaller paddling pool for younger guests, other visitors were using it but due to its size we still had our own space. We visited the hotel on a couple of occasions to have a drink and something to eat, and the atmosphere was one of sophistication and tranquillity. Whilst I don't play golf myself I could see the established course and the facilities were clearly a draw to the golfing community, one golfer we spoke to said it was his 7th visit which must mean something. All in all a great break at a lovely apartment in a stunning resort a short hop from the airport with quality ammenities, what more could I ask for. I will be going again!
Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed yourself and especially the 5 Star Intercontinental Hotel which our guests often use for a drink or a meal. We look forward to you booking again for July / August 2015.

"Best value for money venue with great weather and variety of restaurants !"
We returned for our second time and were not disappointed. The weather was great and we dine in a different restaurant every evening on our complex. The ground floor apartment is spacious with all the mod cons you would expect with access to the X-Box for all the family to enjoy. With dining table on the back porch and yards away from the swimming pool this made all the difference. A local supermarket only a few minutes away ensured we had a well stocked fridge. I recommend taking the bikes out as the area is quite flat so a gentle workout and seeing the entire golf course and nearby facilities. A highlight was visiting the local outdoor go-karting. Well worth a visit with family or friends and yes I will be booking for next year too !!!
Thank you for your review. Always great to have return visitors. Glad you liked the many local restaurants.

"A haven for a much needed break"
Stopped for 5 days for a much needed break. The apartment was extremely clean, spacious and well organised. Spent most days chilling in the pool, 10 second walk away. Quiet area, pleasant residents, wonderful scenery.
Thank you for the review. Glad you had a relaxing stay and enjoyed the pool. We look forward to you booking again for next year and having just as much fun!

"Beautiful and well equipped apartment in a stunning resort"
Wow! Best apartment we have ever stayed in. Almost everything we could ask for as a family of 5. Great location within the resort, extremely well presented accommodation with ample supply of crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment as well as wifi, air conditioning, PS3 games console, inflatables, football etc. Large patio area perfect for eating family meals in the shade. The apartment owner has been a pleasure to liaise with - very responsive to any questions posed. The resort itself is fairly quiet with an extensive range of restaurants both on site and a 10 minute drive away in Los Alcazares. Great beach options nearby too. Tiny areas for improvement: 1. Pool should have parasols provided for shade 2. Oven needs another shelf (this is nit picking) 3. A BBQ would compliment the brilliant accommodation A fantastic ground floor apartment for families of 5 or 6 regardless of ages. Highly recommended. Looking forward to our 2nd week of the holiday!
Thank you for the lovely review. We really value your feedback. We will invest in a Pool parasol when we next go over in 2 weeks as well as buying another shelf for the oven. As its brand new, its strange they dont seem to have them as standard in Spain. We are also looking to get a really nice gas BBQ would as soon as we can work out how to get a licence for the gas. The coal ones are nice but are quite messy. Have a lovely second week and look forward to you booking again. Thank you for the feedback! We will also order another garage key fob so thank you for that feedback as well.

"Friendly, safe and relaxing"
The Apartment is bigger than i thought it would be, it easily catered for 5 of us without feeling that we were in each others space. All rooms had TVs with UK services, even had a PS3 to help take a break from the sun. The pool area is nice and not too busy, being a stones throw away it was a bonus. As a personal bonus i was able to learn to swim without bumping into a crowded pool. the ratio is spot on. There is a mini mart that is reasonably priced to purchase vital goods. The resort has a wide selection of places to eat, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the menus available. I would highly recommend this apartment, even if you don't play golf like myself.
Thank you for your review. I am glad you had a relaxing time and managed to learn to swim in the pool. It certainly is refreshing to take a dip in July so I am envious of you staying that time of year. We look forward to you staying with us again. "best value for money break"
Only a 15 minute drive from airport, weather was great, wide selection of onsite restaurants, 1 minute walk to swimming pool, bikes great for cycling around to admire the complex and golf course, very reasonable pricing for food. Will visit again.
Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed taking advantage of one of our special offer 5 day breaks. We try to offer all our guests great value for money to ensure you come back year after year. We look forward to you booking to come back next year and looking after you again.

"Stunning appartment, everything you could want!"
Everything you could possibly need is provided, such as washing machine, dish washer, hair dryer, TV's in every room, WI-FI, DVD's, board games, Play station and more. It is the perfect apartment for everyone, families, couples and girls/boys get away. The apartment is decorated beautifully, the furniture is gorgeous you immediately feel at home.
Thank you for the lovely review. We are glad you had a wonderful time in our new apartment. I hope you will book again for next year. Its funny how many people use the PlayStation 3 on the HD TV and really have fun in the evenings or as a break from the sun playing Football or Car racing games! Especially the men...

"A real home from home"
If you are looking for an apartment within Mar Menor or any Spanish golf resort, I cannot recommend La Loma Calle highly enough. A combination of ground floor and corner plot gives it the edge over many similar rentals, increasing both the sense of space and privacy. Patio doors open directly on to a large terrace which, in turn, leads to a grassed area with the golf course directly to your left and the lovely communal pool just metres to your right. The apartment itself sleeps 6 and does so really comfortably: even at maximum occupancy there is plenty of lounge and dining seating for everyone, both inside and out. The apartment is fabulously equipped, with everything from a choice of wine glass to books, games, and dvds. The finish is simple and elegant, yet not at all basic, and whether you want to simply lie in the sun and read, or cook a full family meal, everything really is easy. Whilst you may need a car to fully appreciate the region, the on-site hotel has a few good restaurants and the 5-10 minute walk is a nice start to the evening. Also, the nearby town of Los Alcázares is just a 10-12 Euro taxi ride away. This apartment is close to the airport but has no flight noise; the owner is excellent to deal with; and, even if like us, you’ve never picked up a golf club, this apartment is lovely and great value for money.
Thank you for your lovely review. I look forward to you coming back to stay with us next year. We are really glad that you liked the apartment and the way it has been furnished. My wife has literally spent weeks over choosing lovely furniture for the apartment. I just chose the TV so can't take much credit.

"Fabulous apartment in a great resort"
We have stayed at most of the Polaris World resorts in the area and have to say that the Mar Menor is definitely the best and the apartment the most spacious and well furnished apartment we have stayed in. It has a glorious view overlooking the golf course and lake. We didn't have good weather, but the apartment and its facilities made our stay - a real home from home. Communication with the owner was fantastic from start to finish. He kept us informed throughout, was prompt with any replies to our queries and was very quick to refund our security deposit at the end of our stay. Would definitely recommend this rental.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are really pleased you enjoyed the stay and the apartment especially the lovely views. If you would like to book again then feel free to contact me and we can offer you a returning guest rate. James & Sarah.

"An excellent apartment close to all amenities."
A first class apartment in an excellent position for families or a group of golfers. The swimming pool is a few metres away from your terrace and the hotel, restaurants, pro shop and first tee are a short stroll away. Having stayed, or played, on most of the golf courses in the area I think the Mar Menor Golf Resort is now the pick of all the Polaris World (now IRM)Resorts, with the others sadly lacking in infrastructure investment. For golfers I would recommend that you book your tee times well in advance as the resort has a growing population and the prime slots disappear fast. If, like me, you last played the course when it was nines holes then you will not be disappointed with the new nine, more difficult with raised greens, water in play and very well bunkered. For families the apartment is in an ideal position as you can be close to the children whilst sitting on your own terrace. Dealing with James (the owner) and Caroline (the key holder) is easy and straightforward. In summary, book it, you won't be disappointed.
Thank you for your review Edward. If you get bored of the terrible weather in England we would love for you to stay again. Glad you enjoyed the golf and our apartment. Happy to offer you a special returners rate if you ever want to come back or pass on to your friends and family.
