About the home
Our luxury 2 bedroom villa comes with it's own private swimming pool 6 x 3 metres.We have furnished the property to a very high standard, We are not overlooked and the beautiful views are overlooking the orange groves and mountains.Our villa is situated on the 5 star Polaris World Golf Resort (sorry Jack Nicklaus won't be there). This gated community is ideal for families and golfers as it is on a 18 hole golf course. The golf course has a excellent driving range, chipping/putting green and a fantastic pro shop.On the complex there is 4 restaurants, 3 bars, communal swimming pool, tennis court, gym and supermarket.
The nearest beach is just 10 min drive away at Los Alcazares, Which is a seaside town with many restaurants and bars.Within 30 mins drive there are many golf courses including La Manga which has 3 championship courses.

The villa is newly furnished to a very high standard with everything you require whilst on your holiday. We have a DVD player complete with many films. We have also put a playstation 2 in the villa for the kids to play with while your relaxing around the pool , Also many Family board games are in the villa for your use. We have provided two sets of golf clubs for your use whilst on holiday.There is also a safe in bedroom one for your valuables.There is a family bathroom upstairs and another toilet downstairs.

Our villa has got three terraces one at the front of the property and two at the back, one of which is a upstairs terrace overlooking the orange groves and mountains. We have also got a private 6 x 3 metres swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds for those really sunny days.Our villa is not anywhere near the building work which is currently going on the Mar Menor (phase 2).

All linen and towels are provided.Any additional bed linen to change beds half way through your holiday will cost an extra 40 Euro's .
Welcome pack is provided containing Milk, Water, Bread, Butter, Tea, Coffee and sugar.
Also for your convenance we have provided bubble bath, hair products. Saving baggage allowence
Conditions
We would like £100 deposit per week and then the full payment 10 weeks before departure.
As from the 1st January 2012 we are asking for a £100 refundable breakage deposit which will be sent back to you on inspection of our villa when you leave.

The Costa Calida region
The Mar Menor (The warm coast) Is situated around europes largest lagoon where there are many sandy beaches.There are also plenty of shopping centres within 15 mins drive (Dos Mares which has got burger king and Mcdonalds) also really nice clothes shops etc.
The historic cities of Murcia and Cartenga are only 25 mins drive away.
The Mar Menor Golf Resort / Polaris World nr Los Alcazares area
On resort there is a 5 star hotel with spa facilities which anybody can use, (at extra cost). Been back a week now and had a great holiday however was most disappointed with the Villa 68 Castano. The Villia was clean and tidy however the description on your web page slightly skewes the descrption of the villa when you arrive. We arrived at 10.30pm Sunday 18th Sept to find no welcome pack of milk/bread etc despite speaking with owners prior to going on holiday. The pool was in poor condition and not properly maintained as algae was apparrant on the walls of pool. This was raised with contacts left on site however nothing was done to remedy other than around 2 days before our holiday ended on 28th Sept 11 somone had very carlessly added chlorine to water. This pool needs totaly draining revamped and refillled with clean water. I guess this is being avoided by owners as it has cost issues associted with it. We were unable to use the pool during our entire holiday The descrption on web page describes having English TV inc Sky sports, again this is inaccurate. There is no sky box installed however the TV set appears to be picking up the following channels Sky 2& 3 UK Gold and Sky News how it is doing that is beyound me. This would have been OK if the reception/picture was clear. again this was raised with agents but no further action was taken. Other issue with Villa include poor drainage on upstairs bath/shower as when showering you have water coming up to the calfs of your legs. also water in some instancestook 20 mins to drain from bath. Unacceptable On arrival sign stuck on washing machine - not working - again raised with agent who advised has been broke for 4 weeks and ownwers know about it. It took a over a week to have a new one installed. Unacceptable There would appear to be some dispute with agents as the original agents contact in guest book is inaccurate as when I phoned them they said they did not look after the villa anymore and we should contact another person whos details where left in kitchen. When I phoned the other person he was vague and told me he has no contract had no contact with owners in UK and is uneasy at taking this villa on. Although he was very helpful throughout you could tell there was tension between him the previous agents(who i beleive are related to owners) and the owners back in UK. Other issues with Villa where no hairdryer provided, we had to travel into town on our first day and buy a hairdryer. Light fittings not working, Shower head needing replaced. Phone disconnected in villa all contact I had to make with my mobile phone. at my own cost All these issues spoiled our stay at villa and we have not had one phone call or e-mail from owners in UK to apologise for all the above. I will be back to Mar menor but will most definatley be back to 68 Castano. Response: In response to your comments we are very upset to hear that you found our villa not to your liking. We would like to clear up a few issues,the pool comments. Once the cleaner had been informed he came and sorted it for you, not to sure how you would know about carelessly adding Chlorine.Also Sky comes via a large Satelite on the Mar Menor and feeds every house so no box needed but unfortunatly the service isnt always as good as England. We are looking into improving this over the winter.As for the drainage first person ever to complain we go over a few times a year and have never had any problems.Sometimes in Spain the water goes off for know reason but this is out of our control.The washing machine was replaced as soon as we became aware of the problem.The tension between us and the cleaners is a strange one as it is actually my parents for look after the property for us.The phone in the villa is only connected to Polaris world services and other polaris world complexes.We have not been in touch with this reviewer due to not knowing about most of the issues raised until reading this review, if you dont let us know we can not address the issues, we did find out about the washing machine and that was replaced for you. We were lucky to have a expert in our villa who knows about Pool Cleaning, Sky installation, Spanish Drainage and Physcology.We are very upset that the villa didnt meet your expectations as we try to make it as good as we can, again if issues arent raised we can not try to sort them for you which isnt always easy living in England. We have rented our villa for 4 years to over 50 families and have received many Great comments and some repeat bookings. |
