Welcome to a stunning end Penthouse Apartment in a prime south west corner location on the Polaris flagship 5-star Mar Menor golf Resort. Large terraces to rear and side with separate balcony afford magnificent near-360 degree panoramic views over the 11th and 12th Holes and adjacent pools, across to the countryside and mountains and round to the Mar Menor coastline. The terraces are also equipped with a variety of furniture sets to allow sunbathing, or relaxing and dining in complete privacy either in the sun or shade at all times from dawn to dusk. The apartment enjoys a particularly open aspect, also overlooking garden planting and wide grass areas alongside the road to the front.
** NB. This Resort has a very different design to many other, much larger Resorts, such as La Torre, Hacienda Riquelme, Roda etc, to create a spacious, open feel with wide roads, off-road parking, and all properties opening to wide grass areas or golf fairways, rather than the usual high density 'walled city' approach. The design also allows for supermarket, shops, five star hotel, bars and restaurants all to be within a steady 10-15 minutes' walk from any part of the resort, making a car unnecessary. **
** Also, the majority of nearby properties have, in fact, been sold. However, just like most Resorts in the area, and probably in coastal Spain, occupancy is relatively low at April time of year. Most visitors, though, are glad to enjoy the relative peace and quiet for relaxation! **
On the much larger Resorts mentioned, a car is really essential as many properties are not within a comfortable walking distance from the supermarket, bars and shops in the central commercial areas. ** As to be expected, the sizes of supermarkets and social clubs are relative to the numbers of properties in the Resorts, but all are fine for normal needs. **
** NB. Although the social club in this Resort is only intended to provide food and refreshments during the day and so closes at 7pm on most days, the hotel and Clover bars are just opposite and other bars and restaurants are no more than 10 minutes walk away, offering plenty of choice for relaxed evenings. **
The Mar Menor golf course is a Jack Nicklaus design and is one of the excellent golf courses in the area which make up the Polaris World Jack Nicklaus 'Golf Trail'. Transport is available to any of these courses each day.

The apartment has been tastefully furnished for high quality, comfort and entertainment, including a plasma TV, a/v centre and WI-Fi facilities. A lift provides private access from both outside and underground parking facilities.

Bedroom 1 and Lounge patio doors give access to the large front terrace, which is totally private for care-free sunbathing from late morning to sunset! A full-size patio table and chair set with parasol completes the setting, overlooking the 11th Hole to countryside and mountains.
Double patio doors from the Lounge Dining area open to the roof-top solarium, which is even larger than the Lounge and Dining area combined! A second matching full size patio table and chair set with parasol is complemented by an all weather raffia sofa, chairs and table set and a swing hammock (subject to calm weather conditions). Again total privacy for sunbathing is assured from sunrise to sunset, with ample sun loungers and recliners for sunbathing on both terraces. Fluffy beach towels also provided for sunbathing comfort. The orientation of the two terraces provides some shaded areas at all times of day without the need for using or moving the table parasols.
The roof-top solarium looks over both 11th and 12th Holes and the adjacent swimming pools below, aiding supervision of children, whilst the glorious near-360 degree panoramic views round to the Mar Menor sea during daylight hours are replaced at night by a distant but beautiful ring of lights at ground level from Torre Pacheco and road networks further afield. A truly magical experience every day of the year, which is also brought into the Lounge and Dining areas by strategically placed wall mirrors.

1) Meet & Greet at Resort
An English-speaking representative is available locally to answer any questions. Guests will be met with keys for the apartment and will be shown around the amenities and security facilities. A fee of 15 GBP is chargeable for this Service ( 25 GBP for arrivals after 6pm).
2) Welcome Basket
For your added convenience a Welcome basket of basic provisions can be provided at cost of 20 GBP (details on request).
3) Change-over Clean
A full change-over of laundry and cleaning will be carried out prior to each booking for which there will be a charge of 80 euros payable locally on arrival
4) Mid-stay Fresh Bed-linen and Towels
** NB. Rental rates are inclusive of mid-stay fresh bed-linen and towels for your comfort on bookings of 2 or 3 weeks and every 9/10 days for longer periods. This inclusive service can be upgraded to a full mid-stay clean (see Additional Services below) **
Following acceptance of reservation and payment of deposit, a booking confirmation form with terms and conditions will be issued by e-mail for completion and return. Directions and key instructions will be issued c 2 weeks before Arrival Date.
The apartment will normally be available from 16.00 hours on Arrival Date and must be vacated by 10.00 hours on the Departure Date. A fee will be chargeable in the event of late departure.
** NB. Please note that a fair usage energy policy operates for all Bookings (some landlords require an extra €100 per week for Hot / Cold Air Conditioning to cover extreme abuse). Rental rates include a generous allowance for all reasonable power usage, eg from 30 euros per week in the Winter period up to 45 euros per week in the Summer period. A gas BBQ is available. ** NB This must be left in a clean condition on departure or a cleaning fee will be chargeable. **

The Murcia region
Known as the 'warm coast', this region enjoys the least rainfall in Spain with more than 300 days of sunshine in a temperate climate varying from 30 degrees plus in summer to 17 degrees in winter. Considered to be one of the most attractive regions of Spain, it is blessed with a host of diverse wonders, from the gently shelving 'blue-flag' beaches of the nearby Mar Menor salt water lagoon and historic ports and cities such as Cartagena and Murcia, to the inland nature reserves and surrounding mountains of the Sierras.
** NB. Please remember that Spain, like other mediterranean countries, has a semi-tropical climate which encourages the presence of mosquitoes and other insects especially in the hot summer months of July and August. Although regular spray fumigations are conducted at night throughout this Resort between March and October to minimise the nuisance, visitors should be prepared to use low cost deterrent sprays or aroma products from the wide choice available in local supermarkets. **
Cartagena, an old naval port 20Km to the south, is steeped in over 2,000 years of history with its Castle and Roman ruins. Old and New areas of the city live in harmony, combining cultural interest with a great selection of shops and restaurants.
Murcia City, the regional capital 40Km to the north and famous for its Moorish origins, is impressive with its Cathedral and Museums and many fine buildings in a mix of ancient and modern architecture. Again, Old and New also nestle together to provide an extensive array of shops and restaurants.
Although this region has all the ingredients for a relaxing, tranquil holiday, and still enjoying freedom from multi-storey tourism, the scope for walking, biking, boating, beach and water sports activities will surely satisfy the energies of both young and old looking for more than just golf, sun, good food and wine.

Mar Menor Golf Resort
The Resort is situated roughly mid-way between Murcia City to the north and Cartagena to the south, and some 5Km inland from the coastal town of Los Alcazares. San Javier (MJV) Airport lies on the coast 15Km to the north. Access into the Resort is via two gates manned by security staff who also conduct round the clock patrols across the site.
A range of facilities is provided centrally by the 5-star Intercontinental Hotel including bars, restaurant and Spa. There are also medical and body-care facilities, paddle tennis courts, and a small but well stocked supermarket. Close to the main road Entrance there is an area, known as El Boulevard, which houses a number of shops, restaurants and bars. The nearby towns of Los Alcazares and Torre Pacheco offer a wide range of shops, banks and large supermarkets for additional needs.
Los Alcazares is a large but quiet coastal town situated by the calm waters of the Mar Menor lagoon. Alongside the sandy beach runs a wide paved promenade for several kilometres. The town retains its traditional Spanish style whilst providing a variety of shops, bars and restaurants offering international cuisines.

"luxury penthouse for golfers and sun seekers"
internet problem understood to now be resolved.access to apartment delayed as usual key holder not present due to bereavement, temporary key holder had wrong key, so delay in gaining access.secure complex with regular security patrols, felt safe albeit a bit isolated, as most nearby apartments not occupied/sold.no access to underground car park.small supermarket on site good with good meat when avaliable.immediate area is mainly agriculture.generally quiet resorts nearby.car required as long distance for carrefour etc and for sight seeing.twighlight golf 34 euro +3 ins.
extra change for meet and greet and cleaning.sun on terrace with good views of course. need mosqitos and fly spray/plugs.we ate in mostly.club house pleasent except closes at 7pm apart from friday.La Torra supermarket bigger plus better selection/atmosphere in club house and food better.
Guests are advised in advance of all changes in arrangements where unavoidable. It is regretted that, in this instance, the stand-in keyholder attended with the wrong key. It is our policy always to provide guests with refreshments at the social club or hotel in the event of any unforeseen arrival problems, eg keys, water or electricity supplies etc. During this short period, keys were collected in the Resort and access to the apartment was provided within twenty minutes of being met on arrival.
Thank goodness this is not a perfect (Polaris) World! However, when considering this Resort for holidays, it may be helpful to check all the information provided in this advertisement which has been starred ** to highlight the realities which can be expected and enjoyed when staying in the Resort.
