How to get there
Leave airport, after 500mtrs road bears left, after 2km at round about, turn right army camp on left. Continue for 2km next round about, second exit go right, continue 3.0km traffic lights INKA supermarket on right, go sharp round to your right, after 50mtrs take filtration lane left. BP garage on right. 150mtrs go right to Kissamos from highway. Continue for 25km until Kolympari interchange, turn right. 1km at staggered cross road (INKA supermarket) straight on 5km passed harbour and monastery you will arrive in Afrata square. Getting around
We recommend car-hire, there is how ever, a bus service in the morning, returning in the afternoon to the village. From Kolimpari there is an excellent inexpensive air conditioned bus service. In Chania there is an Hop on and Hop Off Bus service for 15.00€. a day. Also there's the Tourist Holiday Train in Kolimpari which visits all tourist destinations and also comes to the village.
