The house is situated on the border of the Garhwal and Kumaon near Gwaldam. Approaching from the west you can come from Delhi to Dehra Dun or Haridwar by rail air or car,and then by car follow the Ganges up to Karnprayag turning off to go along the Curzon Trail. Alternatively from the east by train or car to Kathgodam,or air to Panatnagar in the Kumaon, then by car via Almora or Ranikhet to Gwaldam. Bus services are also available.

The journey from Delhi will take about 12 hours ( 6 by train + 6 by car) but the latter six hours from either direction takes you through spectacular scenery in both Garwhal and Kumaon. This is a fairly remote but very beautiful district and help and advice will be given on transport details and bookings if required,as well as suggestions for further exploration of the wild and rugged Garwhal or the more pastoral Kumaon A helicopter service to Baijnath from Delhi (30 km from house) is expected to start operating in the near future.
