How to get there
Take the M5 going south. At J27 take the A361. After about 27 miles at Aller Cross take the A399 and proceed towards Blackmoor Gate. Just after Blackmoor Gate take the A39 as far as the turn off to Kentisbury Ford. From Kentisbury Ford take the road signed Patchole/Bugford. At the T junction by Stonecombe take the lane signed Bugford. Go through Bugford and 100 yards after Sillery Cottage on you left you will come to the Sillery Cottage/Little Woodacott car park.
Getting around
A car is essential to visit the beaches. The Tarka Line from Barnstaple station goes along the scenic Taw valley to Exeter stopping at interesting places along the way. From Exeter St Davids, with London and Penzance connections, the line continues from Exeter Central to the seaside town of Exmouth. There is regular bus service from Barnstaple to Ilfracombe and Bideford.
