Getting around

As we are out of the village, a car is needed, although for those who fancy a longer, energetic walk, the coastal path goes up the hill behind the cottage and along the ridge (approx 1 hr walk) with fantastic views across the Barmouth estuary to Cader Idris and the Rhinogs. Alternatively you can take a longer walk to Tywyn in the opposite direction crossing the beautiful Dysynni Valley. In Llwyngwril there is a train station which has regular trains north to Barmouth, south to Aberystwyth. This is a good option for visiting Barmouth for the day as the road option around the estuary is about 20 miles. Or even better, park at Morfa Mawdach station and walk through the nature reserve and across Barmouth Bridge.
