How to get there
Deauville St Gatien (Ryan Air from Stanstead airport - Fridays & Mondays).
Ferry Le Havre - Portsmouth - Brittany Ferries. 40 minutes drive to Honfleur. Usually cheaper than Brittany Ferries from Caen.
Ferry Caen (Ouistreham) - Portsmouth - Brittany Ferries. Usually more expensive but more crossings and better quality than ferries from Le Havre.
Ferry Dieppe - Newhaven - DFDS Seaways. One and a half hours drive from Honfleur. Cheaper ferry option but ferry crossings can be at odd hours.
Train from Paris Saint Lazare to Deauville then bus or taxi
Getting around
The seaside resorts of Deauville et Trouville are 25 minutes along the coast by car. The Normandy Landing Beaches, Mont st Michel and Monet’s Gardens at Giverny are all within a 1 ½ - 2 hours drive. You can also enjoy a bike ride or a walk in the pretty countryside above Honfleur known as the Côte de Grace. Or perhaps a stroll along the beach. Further inland is the lovely rolling countryside of the Pays d’Auge with it’s many beautiful manoirs. In this region there are a number of Calvados distilleries and Cider farms to visit.
