If you are intending to drive down from Pisa airport, you should exit the airport onto the Superstrada in the direction of Firenze.After approximately 45 minutes you should look out for the exit signposted simply 'Empoli'*(This is the next one after Empoli Ovest).Take this turnoff and then follow the signs for Vinci.
If you are intending to drive down from Florence airport, you should exit the airport by using the Via Termine which becomes Via Giovanni Luder.Continue on this road, which then joins up with the Viale Gori.Stay on this road until you see a turn off on your right which is the continuation of Viale L.Gori.This road then becomes the Viadotto Indiano.Follow along this road for some time until you see the blue sign indication for SGC Firenze-Pisa-Livorno (or Fi-Pi-LI) Superstrada in the direction of Pisa.After approximately 45 minutes you should look out for the exit signposted simply 'Empoli'*(This is the next one after Empoli Est).Take this turnoff and then follow the clearly indicated signs for Vinci.
If you are coming from the direction of Florence, get onto the Autostrada A1 towards Florence and take the exit signposted 'Scandicci' and then join the Superstrada in the direction of Pisa.After approximately 30 minutes, look out for the exit signposted simply 'Empoli'*(This is the next one after Empoli Est).Take this turnoff and follow the signs for Vinci.
On arriving at Vinci drive through the village, past the castle wall and up the hill.Part way up look for a black and white sign, on your left, for Podere Zollaio, which is a sharp turnoff onto a small lane.We are the fourth farmhouse along this lane.You will see the Podere Zollaio sign directly ahead of you on a short brick pillar
*For your convenience, there is a large Coop supermarket within the 'Empoli Centro' complex at the exit from the Superstrada

Getting around
The closest railway station is Empoli (12 Km from Vinci) which has good connections to Florence, Pisa and Siena. We always recommend to take the train to get to Florence because of the traffic and the difficulty of finding parking, moreover the main station in Florence is set in the middle of the city. Other towns or villages can be reached by car: Lucca, Pistoia, Certaldo, S.Gimignano, Volterra, Montecatini,etc.
