How to get there

By Air:

Languedoc Roussillon has good air connections. The adjacent Midi Pyrenees region has Toulouse international airport which has flights from many parts of the UK and Europe and there are also airports at Carcassonne (20 minutes), Perpignan and, Beziers (1 hour), Montpellier (90 minutes) and Nimes (2 hours). Note times are to Marseillette. Also don't forget the airports in Spain Girona which is a Ryanair base (2 hours) and Barcelona (3 hours away)

By Car:

The journey from Calais to the departments capital of Carcassonne is around 1060km and takes around 9 ½ hours. A61 Exit motorway at (A61 Carcassonne Est. exit), then the Route Nationale 113 for about .5 kms until signposted Trebes and D610. Pass through Trebes and then through open countryside with vineyards and sunflowers until Marseillette.

By Train:

The TGV service from Paris serves Perpignan, Nimes and Montpellier. Eurostar operates from London to Avignon. The distance from Avignon to Carcassonne is 238kms, which is about 2 ½ hours drive. Carcassonne station is in the centre of Carcassonne's new city.
