By car: Follow the A9 north, then take the A99 from Wick following the signs for John O' Groats and the Gills Bay Ferry. This does involve a right turn a few miles out of Wick in the village of Reiss. After approximately 16 miles of being on the A99, you need to take a left turn sign posted “Canisbay 3 miles”. This is a single track road with passing places and after about 2 miles you turn right, this is again signposted “Canisbay”. Follow this road and shortly after you enter the village and the 30mph signs there is a left turn. Go to the end of this road at which point you should have the white Canisbay Church in front of you. Turn left (A836) and when you have passed two white houses on the right take the next left which is the road to the croft.
