How to get there
Flights from Gatwick into Olbia airport are also very frequent as it's only 1 and a half hours drive from Olbia to Alghero! I will send directions!
DIRECTIONS TO – IL TO VILLA IL TRAMONTO - FROM ALGHERO AIRPORT - On leaving the airport car park – TURN RIGHT (Following signs to Alghero) At the end of that road there is a T junction – TURN LEFT. At the end of that road there is a roundabout – TAKE FIRST EXIT. At the end of that road there is a round about – TAKE THE 3RD EXIT (TURN LEFT) Along that road which is called Via Don Minzoni, after a couple of minutes, next to a small church there is a roundabout and here you take the second exit. You will now be in Via Gallilei. At the end of this road there is a wonky cross roads with an odd looking house a bit like a castle in front of you. Cross over into a wide newish looking road that goes through some olive groves and at the end of this there is a T junction with traffic lights and you must TURN LEFT – following signs to Sassari, Olmedo and Ittiri on a road called 127bis. Follow this road out of town - straight across the mini roundabout and on past a shopping area on the left with signs for “EUROSPIN and another shop calledTRONY” . Keep going for about another mile or 1.5 km, down a slight hill, and once out in the country side you will find on your right a sign for STR: CARRABUFFAS – TURN RIGHT. Follow the country road for a couple of minutes and at a very sharp right hand curve you will see a sign with a big M on it. We are the NEXT turning on you left and there is a big L on our sign post and some letter boxes. Go up the hill and at the t junction at the top turn left. Follow the road round past a few houses – at a certain point the tarmac ends and the road is cemented (It is bumpy!). You go round to the right, down a dip and up the other side, past a stone house on your right and up a steep narrow lane behind it to our house. When you get to the top you will see a sign ; Il Tramonto ;. the entrance is on the left. Stop at the big wooden gate and someone will let you in.(Do not try and push it open!)
