How to get there

St Ives is 7 miles off the A30, the main route into Cornwall from the M5. From Exeter it is about a 2 hour drive, Exeter airport offers many connections as does Newquay airport which is only 40 minutes drive from St Ives. The train from St Ives takes you to St Erth where you join the main line to London Paddington or change and go into Waterloo - the journey time is approximately 5 - 6 hours and other than getting the pretty 2 carriage train from St Erth which meanders along the coast for 10 minutes, a perfect arrival in St Ives. The sleeper train service from London Paddington is another great idea when deciding on how to reach St Ives. From the train station you walk down the hill to the Bank just 0.18 Km, or jump in a Taxi we are less than 2 minutes away.

Getting around

The best way to get around St Ives is on foot, all 5 beaches are within easy walking distance of the town centre and The Bank. For those who'd like to explore further afield take the coastal railway from St Ives to St Erth, calling at beautiful Carbis Bay another sheltered beach ideal for families, Lelant saltings, Lelant and St Erth. There is also a regular bus service that takes you to Carbis Bay, Lelant, Penzance, Hayle and Truro. During the summer months there are further bus connections that allow you to travel to Lands End, Geevor Tin Mine and Zennor.
