How to get there

By Train:

The mainline rail service from London Paddington can be taken to Carmarthen, where a taxi or local bus can complete the drive down to Llansteffan village, about seven miles away.

By Car:

Take the M4 west past Swansea until it becomes the A48. Follow this until it approaches Carmarthen; then follow the signs for the A40 towards St Clears. Continue along the dual carriageway for a quarter of a mile and take the first exit signed Johnstown & Llansteffan. Follow the B4312 for seven miles down to the village of Llansteffan. You will follow the river Towy on your left.

Once in Llansteffan, drive down the high street past the Sticks Hotel on your right. Count four houses on the right past the Sticks Hotel and make a sharp right turn into the narrow driveway between two houses (opposite the church tower) and continue to the top. There are large gateposts with the house name at the entrance to the drive. Hill House is the large pink house at the top of the drive.

Please note: the drive is steep and narrow! Nervous drivers may wish to park on the road in the village, or for free in the beach car park, and walk to the house, where assistance can be given with bringing up their luggage.
