How to get there

The ferry company is called Caledonian MacBrayne and it sails from three ports to arrive on Mull. Booking is advised if you are going to come on the main ferry through Oban. It is now possible to get a ticket which lasts for 9 days at a discounted return price. The ferry costs more at peak times on a Saturday, which is why one of our houses changes on Friday. It is important to arrive at Oban 30 minutes before the sailing to redeem a reservation. Other ferries, you just turn up. http:// www.calmac.co.uk is the website for more information and booking.

The roads on Mull are single track and it is advisable to let faster traffic pass you in a passing place. It is also a lot safer to have a vehicle going around blind corners and rises in front of you so that you can relax. We, as locals, always let vehicles pass us if they are needing to go faster. On the subject of passing places, please don't park in a passing place to take photos or admire the scenery, as there are plenty of other places to park.
