How to get there
It is very easy to get to Alderney from the UK - less easy from mainland Europe. Much as we are much closer to France the airlinks have historically always been much stronger to the UK - fly direct to Alderney from Southampton Airport with the local airline Aurigny. You can also fly via Guernsey with Aurigny from Manchester, Bristol, London Gatwick and Stansted Airports. There are currently no ferries to the island although there are a couple of small boats that bring people to the island from Cherbourg. Ask us for help with getting to the island - we know the best ways!

Getting around
A good 50% of our guests choose to walk everywhere (and maybe take the odd taxi). Given that it is rare to be anywhere where this is possible, we find quite a lot of people think this is very refreshing - slows your pace from hectic city living. The walk into town is between 45-55 minutes and to the harbour area around 35-45 minutes. If walking is not your style, you can hire a car, hire bikes (motorised or not) and take taxis (always best to pre-book taxis as if it is quiet, they don't work very late). Friendly locals will often stop to offer visitors lifts, especially if you look like you are after a lift!
