How to get there

The Island is served by three car ferry routes plus 3 additional passenger routes. All are easily accessible and which one you choose will depend on where you are travelling from. Red Funnel offers a car ferry from Southampton to East Cowes as well as a faster passenger route from Southampton to West Cowes. Wightlink offers a car ferry from Lymington in the New Forest to Yarmouth in the West of the Island. Wightlink also offers a car ferry from Portsmouth to Fishbourne which is just 2.5 miles from The Oaks, and a faster passenger link from Portsmouth to Ryde, where there is a frequent bus which stops at the end of our lane. Hovertravel offers a fast passenger route from Southsea, near Portsmouth to Ryde. Portsmouth Harbour is a busy train station, and your destination if travelling by rail. It is worth checking all operators online as many have special offers and booking in advance is necessary and cheaper. We will provide detailed information about how to find The Oaks once you have arrived on the Island, and will also be happy to offer local knowledge about the ferries. Some supermarket points tokens can be used to purchase vouchers for the ferries thus helping to reduce the cost.
