Getting around
La Consuma is an ideal choice for those who wish to be close to shopping, restaurants and cafes, yet be in a private home. San Giovanni d'Asso has approximately 300 inhabitants. Our house is situated in the upper part of the village near the ancient castle, which hosts the famous White Truffle Market in the month of November. In Spring or Summer other types of truffles can be found, very tasty. Other agricultural products of the area are famous: excellent wines, oil, savoury cheeses (Pecorino!) and honey. In this upper part of the village there is a fine restaurant just a short walk from the the house. The lower part of San Giovanni d'Asso has a nice 'osteria'
