How to get there

By road from the south - take the M6 motorway which will bring you to Gretna in the east of our Region. From there take the A75 to Dumfries. Follow the signs for Dalbeattie(A711). From Dalbeattie follow the signs for Colvend (A710). After approximately 4 miles, you go past Kippford Holiday Park, then after half a mile, look out for a concealed entrance sign just before a white cottage. Turn left at the cottage down a private road for half a mile. Greenthorns is on the right hand side of the road, just after 'Ernsheenie'

From the north - take the M74 from the Central Belt of Scotland. At Beattock take the A701 to Dumfries. Then follow the directions from Dumfries listed above. Alternatively, from the north west either the A76 to Dumfries or the A713 from South Ayrshire to Castle Douglas. From there, the A745 to Dalbeattie.

From the west - take the A75 to Castle Douglas. Then follow the directions listed above.

By rail or bus - most of the major operators run services to Dumfries where you can switch to a local service which will take you past the Auchenhill Farm road end.
