Jeeps or SUVs are recommended, since the final bit of road is a bit rough and other locations on the island and St. John justify an SUV. Taxis or private drivers can be engaged. Although Red Hook is only 1.5 miles away, the road is narrow with limited visibility, and it is not recommended for pedestrians. The airport is about 13 miles away, and is approximately a 35 minute drive away depending on traffic. Two quality grocery stores (Moe's Market in Red Hook, and Food Center) are within 5 to 10 minute drives.
